Personally, I find it so difficult to really forgive the serious ones. I try, pero lisod gyud.

People who say they forgive yet do not forget are not forgiving in the full sense. It is like paying a debt in full. One can not pay in full and still be indebted!

to me at least, hard is a lesser adjective, considering I have a very keen memory of events, especially the ones you describe as "life- changing".

Honestly, it's hard to forgive especially if your ego is threatened.
But it;s the work of the holy spirit in order to conform and mold us into a better person. Though it'l take enough time but it will surely come if we'l continue to abide in the Lord whatever happens. Jesus has set the good example for us when insolence, ridicule, hate was hurled on him, SIN stopped-what he said was "father forgive them..."
