These rumors that I got are from (close) friends and from the families (relatives and siblings) of my wife, she's from Zamboanga City.

Here are the rumors circulating around:

This Zamboanga City attack is a joint venture (yes, I'm calling it a joint venture since I believe the bottom line of everything is to make more money) between the government and the MNLF. First, try to put yourselves into the shoes of Nur Misuari, I don't think you'd be st*pid enough to attack a city just to raise your flag in the city hall. Raising a flag changes nothing. It doesn't make Zamboanga City a part of Bangsamoro. But at the start, mao ni ang gipagawas nga istorya, gusto sudlon sa MNLF ang city hall para maraise ilang flag.

Now, do we still hear news reports that they are still aggressive in making it to the city hall? They're busy burning barangays and ironically, they focus on just a single one, Sta. Barbara. Now, let's make things a little interesting. Sta. Barbara is a town made up dominantly of Muslims. Di ba Muslims man pud ni ang mga MNLF? Why the heck attack their own brothers and sisters? See, Zamboanga City is made up mostly of non-Muslims, nganong adto man gyud sila sa Muslim area motira?

The mayor of Zamboanga City keeps on saying nga "be calm" lang daw. Seriously, how can you be calm when you hear gunshots almost everywhere, worse, naa pa ang mga buto just a few meters away from your home? How can you be calm when you're in the evacuation area while thinking nga wala na kay kaulian kay gisunog na sa mga rebelde imong balay? How can you be calm when while at the evacuation area, naa kay bata or tiguwang nga kuyog nga nagkasakit na and you can't buy medicines kay either sarado ang mga pharmacies or delikado lang kaayo mogawas? How can you be calm when you have nothing to eat, drink and sleep on? Yet the mayor seems to be at peace at her place. Isn't that ironic yet dubious?

Escalating things, I don't seem to get the logic ngano, after nearly a week since the attack, the president hasn't declared state of emergency. People are asking, kung baha sa Luzon, state of emergency dayun but giyera sa Zamboanga, walay state of emergency? And to think this was "done" by the government's number 1 enemies?

Let's try to put things together. Ingon sa mga taga Zamboanga City, there might be plans for Sta. Barbara to be developed but the government might have a hard time convincing or letting the people leave since they've been there for the past decades. On the side of Climaco (Zamboanga City's current mayor), if she will do it civilly, madaot iyang reputation as a mayor and people will no longer support her. That being said, next elections, pildi gyud ni siya. So the way to do it? Let the "enemies" do it for you. This probably explains the reason why rebels are focusing solely on Sta. Barbara. Sta. Barbara is near shorelines, a perfect spot for industrial developments. By now, Climaco and the government has already made a relocation site so what's in it for her? She will appear helping those affected by giving them new homes and at the same time, mapalambo pa niya ang Zamboanga City by developing probably an industrial or commercial zone/area. Smart idea isn't it?

Haven't you wondered nganong di pasudlon ang mga firetruck? Kay tungod delikado kuno? What a lame reason! Di nila pasudlon ang mga fire trucks para di mapugngan ang mga sunog. Fire trucks can easily make it through with military escorts if tuyoon gyud nila. It doesn't make any sense just to let people's houses burn and do nothing (kung tarong gyud ang ilang intention).

Now, what's in it for the MNLF? Before we'll delve into that, let us not forget that Nur Misuari is a Harvard graduate so that being said, this guy is brilliant. Sigurado di ni siya mobuhat ug butang nga di makabenefit nila, BIG TIME! Speaking of big time, ilang partner is big time pud, no other than the government. Let's go back 12 years ago, the 9/11 attack sa US. After the attack, the US government has vowed to support anti-terrorism groups by providing the necessary support (budget) to curb terrorism.

What a perfect way to stage an attack, 2 days before 9/11! So what does the government and MNLF get? Millions or probably billions of dollars nga support for anti-terrorism. I guess there's nothing much to say.

So in the process, PNoy, Mar, the DND secretary, Nur and Climaco all get what they're looking for. Every wins and gets huge smiles on their faces. And guess at who's expense? The people of Zamboanga.

I'd like to let everybody know that what the media is feeding us are edited and doesn't really provide the real info of what's going on in Zamboanga City. I'm confident enough to say this since one of my wife's friends has good connections sa media. Di kuno gusto iyagyag kung unsa gyud ang mga nahitabo didto. That's the instructions that the media got.

So I guess my initial reaction was wrong. The first thought that came to mind was this is a (possible) cover up to the Napoles/PDAF issue. Apparently, this was all coincidence but mas dako pa diay ni sa PDAF issue.

And lastly, have you ever wondered nganong gipagawas ni si Misuari nga nadakpan na man unta ni? Kung ang mga rapists or petty thieves get heavy penalties or sanctions for the things that they have done, then how come a rebel leader walk away freely? Matuwid na daan indeed.
is this related to Obama's visit to PI next month?

Has the CBCP made its condemnation on the MNLF's use of human shields and indiscriminate burning of houses? When one compares their reaction to condoms to their seemingly muted response to this violent episode by the "religion of peace," it would seems like Satan's favorite hunting ground to capture unwitting souls is the field of S-E-X rather than the battlefield.

i think it is not the right time to for us to insinuate rumors now. many people are affected. lives have been lost. let us be sensitive to the people who are being affected. let us look at what is really happening and its a problem that needs to be solved the soonest possible time.what we ought to do is to think how to help this people. maybe the least that we could do is to offer them our sincere prayers. its never easy to be in a shooting war. so let us spare them the unneeded pain. because when we insinuate, we are just fueling our own ego..

yes the CBCP has condemned the act.. even the Vatican has condemned the act. I think the problem here is the rogue MNLF.. lets not drag CBCP into the issue coz they have nothing to do with this.

my thoughts exactly... I want the government to pulverize the Moro terrorists (or our "muslim brothers") in Zambo.

But it seems in the real world, dili ka simple as black and white... or bad guys from good guys. Kung sa Transformers pa, there is "more than meets the eye" sa kaning recent conflict.
