Filipino as OFW, would this really help us
Our country, even our government loves to hear that we are the number one country who sends people to other country as overseas filipino workers, we are proud of it.
I have a thought recently, how our country becomes a giant nation if we as filipinos are trained to be workers and employees of other countries, our culture or even educational system promotes being a good employee rather than how to become a good company owners, investors or businessman, they are few filipinos who are benefited from being wealthy and rich, even being "Rich and Famous" for the reason that they didn't follow the weak financial education of our country but they rather learn and study the ways of the rich in the world, I just wonder where would our country would be if this lack of financial education in our educational system continues.

Re: Filipino as OFW, would this really help us
Good question dudes. Should we really be proud to be one of the top exporters of labor to the world? Sure we could showcase our diligence and expertise and also send billions back home to support our corrupt government. At what cost? Broken marriages, children left behind lacking the love and devotion of a parent, our sisters being treated like slaves and even raped, loneliness, etc. Is it worth it? If your answer is no, then now is the time to get in touch with your family and friends back home and tell them to vote wisely. Only when our government begin to feel for the people and clean up, can our country attract more investments that would no longer make it necessary for us to leave. The sooner this happens, the earlier can we be united with our loved ones.
Re: Filipino as OFW, would this really help us
OFW's help because they cause inflow of foreign money into the Philippine economy. They also help with our unemployment problem.
I believe that this should only be looked at as a short term solution because we are also losing skilled workers who could be of help to our country.
In the long run, our country needs a lot of jobs and enough skilled workers to progress.
Re: Filipino as OFW, would this really help us
Our country doesnt have the resources or the govt moral enough to sustain itself. So the alternative is to develop a world class labor pool, and in exchange we get the resources we need from other countries. And I agree this shouldnt be a permanent solution but until the govt conditions improve then gamay rajud willing mo work diri kay gamay kaayo sweldo.
And also a big problem is we are not producing a good labor pool fast enough to compensate for the loss of those who are being sent abroad. So ma brain drain jud.
