thats after the korean war when few filipino troops (including cook) that is already surrounded were able to repel chinese human wave attack on their position even without support from the main US line... they are the members of 12 BCT, Fidel Ramos was a young Lt on this battalion...

however things have change... McArthur is dead, the country is in disarray, and we are flooded with stupid and mor0n brown monkeys, who watch telenovelas and reality shows thingking thats it story of their life.... what remains is just history, a proud history of gallantry... which is very rare nowadays....

i love this country, but i wish all the stupid/melodramatic/m0ron brown monkeys (including some istoryans) will die... they are the reason we are soo fcked-upped

I have to disagree. "You don't have to believe in your government to be a good citizen. You just have to believe in your country." Gallantry is still present even until this very moment. Although we have corrupt politicians leading us, however, we still have brave men and women who are serving in the Armed Forces who are risking their lives so that all of us can still have our freedom.

On a personal note, I don't vote because for me it just doesn't make any sense, but that's me. Aside from that, I know a handful of people who are always willing to die for our country. People that I personally know. You see, gallantry is not only shown by wielding of sword or guns, but I see it on a daily basis. Our fellow Filipino who struggle to put food on their table, defying the odds of poverty, etc. The fire is always burning within their hearts. Now, in the event that someone invades our country, I am confident that those people who wants to protect their right, freedom and their way of life will surely stand to defend it. It has happened before and I'm pretty sure that it can happen again.

gallantry in defending the country against foreign aggression only shows when the situation calls for it.
i hope that there wouldn't be a need for us to show it.
but if there is, i hope everyone of us will.
    damn all the cowards!

what govt? i only support decisions not people... what govt are you talking about ? i do support our brothers in service, my family has its own legacy and sacrifices while serving the country... gallantry is not limited to people in service... gallantry includes us civilians... yes they fight so we can sleep at night... i dont argue with that... but dont forget i said rare... for it is obvious... getting into service has became a livelihood rather than a call... its sad fact... i know what gallantry is... many of my kin doing what is called gallantry... and even my old man almost paid the price of so called gallantry... i still believe in gallantry.. still it is rare nowadays.... im not pessimist just a realist... im a patriot not just love thy country coz its cool and its a trend...

at this generation? im not putting all my hopes on it... i still consider this is a screwed-up generation.. being brought by some stupid people of my generations... jeezzz... good thing i never have one yet but if do, ill make sure it wouldn't be a screwed up...

i always believe on "Ask not what your country can do to you, but ask what you can do"...
