I can't believe some of you are actually dreaming about having a war with China. Are you guys bat-shit crazy or just incredibly dumb? And you're even suggesting we send soldiers there to act as bait.. what sacrificial lambs for your warlust? You people want to commit suicide, by all means do it and why don't you volunteer to act as bait for the Chinese gunboats? Don't drag the country into this mess this is a war that can't be won. Even the dumb government we have now is smarter than your lot, at least they know diplomacy is the best way.
C'mon these are just what if's. LOL. If the Phils plays their card right that way wont even be necessary. But I don't think not stepping up against a bully is way either for the Phils. Besides in times of war that is what governments do, withhold properties in their states of citizens of other states. I think it is allowed under the Geneva Convention, witholding does not mean you will not deport them properly or safely. We are talking about properties so I think you are jumping into conclusion on death camps.

^ Nice one genius but the Filipino-Chinese living here are CITIZENS of the Philippines, not China. It amuses me that you don't realize what you and others like you are doing are exactly what China wants, for our people to fight each other instead of uniting against a common enemy. Do you have any Filipino-Chinese friends? What in your upbringing has caused you to think that we will side with China in event of war. And don't talk about what if's unless you're prepared to see it become a reality. You must be a child or too young to realize just what kind of hell war is. I haven't lived through a war yet either but I've seen war vets on TV and it is a hell on earth that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy.

Persecuting local Chinese would be just the excuse China needs to escalate the war even more. Ever heard of Georgia and Russia? Russia invaded Georgia using the excuse that ethnic Russians in Georgia were being persecuted. Even if those Russians in Georgia were Georgian citizens. Let's not make the same mistake here. There are many Chinese Filipino citizens just as there are Filipinos who are citizens of other countries (yes, even China or Chinese states like Singapore). Let's treat each other with respect and give each other the benefit of the doubt otherwise we might end up in a world that none of us want to live through. Be careful what you wish for...

World War II was 10x worse than World War I... keep that in mind. I didn't really want to post in this thread but some of the posts here are becoming too much. Think before posting.

Yeah I think you are more intelligent than me and has much higher IQ.
But I think you should excuse me but I was answering it base on ain's scenario and it says they can choose citizenship. In any case that they choose Chinese Citizenship in time of war. Did we say persecute any chinese in anyway. You are jumping into conclusion. Did we say let take all the LIMs , Go's in the country or lets F'ed all those who has chinky eyes.

NO. There is nothing said on that matter only when they choose Chinese Citizenship, there are holder of dual citizenship in our country and its possible that in time war they might choose to another citizenship. All in the context that IF WAR BROKE OUT.

All in the context of DUAL CITIZENSHIP, if you ask me.

And look I understand the frustration many people are feeling here because we all know Scarborough is really a part of the Philippines even a kindergarten student looking at a map would know this through common sense. But we should aim our frustration at China which is being unreasonable and nobody else. Or maybe take aim at our corrupt generals who have weakened our military.. or some of our senators who sacrificed our security with American bases for their pogi points.

I don't think I'm more intelligent but I think I'm more level headed at least I'm not letting my emotions get in the way of posting stuff without thinking it through. What Ain said is just a bunch of non-sense. There's no chance in hell China would grant citizenship to Filipinio-Chinese in the event of war, and there's no such international law that says in the event of war, those who have same race as the invader can choose to become citizens of the invading force. China would be stupid to grant citizenship to people who have lived their entire lives in another country and whose allegiance is not with China.

Allegiance to race is overrated in this day and age and even China is smart enough to know that, which is why Filipino-Chinese just can't hop on a plane and go to China, we need a visa just like anybody else who is not a Chinese citizen. And also think about how many countries are anti-China despite being majority Chinese. I'm talking about Singapore and Taiwan, which are both natural enemies of China. That tells you a lot that China doesn't care about race, China only cares about the country China and especially the communist party, they don't give a rats ass about the Chinese race...

As faeries says, these are all WHAT IF's... Now, if you cant clearly get my point, better for you not to contradict my post. You are trolling into a post fight here dude.. I am only speaking to the least possibilities of high tension bet. China & Phils. but doesnt mean that i want to drag a war here bet. the 2 said countries because personally WE CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER WAR ANYMORE.. got it now?

What Ain said is just a bunch of non-sense.

-Excuse me? How dare you! We have our own different opinions here, you have yours too..If you understand the word "RESPECT" then do it! I am not saying that this would happen anyway.. These are all WHAT IF's! You talked to much dude.. I think this time its you who is NON SENSE! Tsk...

I can't believe some of you are actually dreaming about having a war with China. Are you guys bat-shit crazy or just incredibly dumb? And you're even suggesting we send soldiers there to act as bait..

-Im not saying that China & Phils will engaged in WAR.. PLeaseeeeeeee understand my post before you talked the hell out of it... In fact CHINA is a BULLY. I hate the way they are doing to us right now..

HISTORY ITSELF SPEAKS THAT CHINA HAS NO BASIS TO CLAIM OUR ISLANDS Scarborough ShoaL... They INSIST THAT THEY ARE CLAIMANTS OF THIS ISLAND...CHINESE IS IDIOTS AND *****S TO TELL THAT THIS ISLAND BELONGS TO PHILIPPINES IS THEIRS.. BUT NOT... TRY TO MEASURE THE DISTANCE OF THE Scarborough ShoaL FROM NEAREST PROVINCE OF CHINA WHICH IS FAR FAR VERY FAR AND IT APPROXIMATELY 890KM WAY FROM THIS ISLAND WHILE PHILIPPINES COASTAL LINE IS VERY VERY NEAR TO THIS ISLAND WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 250 KM AWAY.. SO WHY CHINAS INSIST THAT THIS IS THEIR TERRITORIAL WATERS... YOU CHINESES BOOM BOOM SO IDIOTS IN HISTORY ..TRY TO READ YOUR OWN HISTORY AND THEN TRY TO LEARN MATHEMATICS..PHHYSICS AND ALL MATHEMATICAL MEASURES TO PROVE THAT YOUR COUNTRY HAS A CLAIM TO OUR SCARBOROUGH SHOAL....

ABSOLUTELY CHINA HAS NO BASIS FOR THE U SHAPE AND SO CALLED 9 NINE DASHES TERRITORIAL CLAIM.. YOU GREED AND IDIOTS..THIS IS NOT A MATTER OF ALLIANCE WITH US ..ITS A MATTER OF RIGHTS ..PHILIPPINES HAS ALL THE RIGHTS TO CLAIM ...BUT NOT CHINA...

So now i may say, that this is all my opinion.. Nothing wrong with it.. And please try to understand very well..

Ain, I'll respect your opinions as soon as you stop making racist posts. It's obvious in your post you are implying that Filipino-Chinese are possible traitors to their own country otherwise why would you say this:

" so the advantage of Filipino Chinese citizens are ~ they can choose countries to stand with from where they choose to stay..."

I could quote many other posts you made that are full of racist stuff, but why bother we both know what I'm talking about...

And in truth this scenario you paint is nonsense and I mean that respectfully. The Filipino-Chinese can't choose to go to China if Philippines and China go to war because China does not grant citizenship based on race. It also does not allow dual citizenship. By the way it is possible for pure Filipinos to become Chinese citizens, if they marry a Chinese citizen. What I'm getting at.. it has nothing to do with race. China itself is a country with many races and religions. The issue here is between China the country and Philippines the country. The government in China doesn't even care about Chinese citizens, they only care about keeping the communist party in power. The issue is far more complex than your what if scenarios are making it out to be. This isn't even just about Philippines vs China. It is about overall security in our region, ASEAN, Japan and Australia included. The geopolitics of this are far wider in scope than your simplistic arguments make it out to be. Even your suggestion to boycott all Chinese products is more suicidal to the Philippines than it is to China. That shows how much thought you gave to your posts. If you thought deeply about it you would realize that 1) Philippines is a very small market for China and if we boycott all their goods it won't even make a dent on their GDP and 2) boycotting all Chinese products would lead to mass inflation of goods in this country causing more suffering to our people.

Well like I said I didn't even want to get into this thread because as a Filipino-Chinese I know the sensitivities here but some of your posts are already too much. If you have a problem with China, keep it with China. Don't put us Filipino-Chinese into your far fetched what-if scenarios. We don't want to be part of your nightmare scenarios, get it?

And by the way in case you missed it, I already said I believe Scarborough is part of Philippines. So your ALL CAPS emo posts weren't really necessary. Like I said I understand everyone's frustration, I'm ashamed myself why China is acting like this but I can't say I'm surprised. China has never had a history of acting reasonably, in the first place that's why my ancestors left China.

You know the best way to beat China? Work with our friends. The Philippines has many friends in the region while China has no friends. ASEAN is now purely an economic bloc, but it can be much more.. a security bloc like NATO. Why it isn't is part of history but we can still change that. I think the leaders in the region are looking at the way China is acting now and they are going to react in some manner. In truth this is China's greatest fear, that the region will band together for its own security. So that's the best way forward, to work with our allies in the region because we have many allies. Don't let your fear of China cloud your judgment. They aren't as powerful as you think, every giant has its achilles heel.
