The Mudpack Festival of Mambukal Resort, Murcia, is celebrated every third weekend of
June. I was greatly engrossed by my friend, Roy Sabay's photo of such festival that I have to wait for another year to bear witness to such ritual/festival. Even I have no place to stay because the resort was already fully-booked since December last year I still pushed with my planned itinerary. I ended up staying on a cheap yet decent enough pension in Bacolod which cost me 350Php for 24-hours aircon room, enough for some of my things to be left and for me to sleep.
The Mambukal Mudpack Festival is a festival highlighting conservation of our natural resources and the different colors of mud/clay around the vicinity of Mambukal Resort. I was astonished to see different colors of natural clay/mud in Mambukal. The people covered in clay performed drum beating, dances, clay sculpting, painting and stunts. It was such a picturesque activity.
I wonder why does the local government kept it amongst themselves? For me it is a very nice and unique festival. The local government must give it due support. Even addressing the transportation from Mambukal to Bacolod after 6:00pm should be addressed.
Please allow me to share to you and open your eyes to a festival that is so rich in culture and colors, the 14th Mambukal Mudpack Festival and let me be the first to welcome you to the 15th Mudpack in 2011...
