Smile Lost In Surigao Del Norte

ill be sharing my few snapshots in this thread..

after reaching surigao city from cebu ferry ship in an overnight-long sea travel, at around 5am in surigao city seaport waiting on a motored boat(locally called bangka or lansa) bound for dinagat island specifically in the town of albor (libjo) for a 4-hour bumpy travel. others call the place the mini 100 hundred islands in the south with the side-by-side name of the surfing capital of the philippines (in a neighboring island called siargao).

more newbie photos to come, just need to rest for awhile >.< sakit na akong tuhod og hawak plus wala pay kaon diri lorega, palit pako og buwad.

first catch of stone islet. i believe these are formed due to the seabed live stone plates quite visible on the root of each islets (related to or as per the large tectonic plates) that are vast in the area and grow similar to the scientific theory of the hills in bohol. their mineral-rich soils and grounds may contributed to bushy island mountains. some islets are formed of limestones, gravels, sandbards, and reefs while others are rows of rocks formations . there are lots of caves and tunnels in the islets below and above sea level. these caves and tunnels might be the reason why some of the areas have whirpools of which i was surprised of (sabta nalang kay dili ko scientist).

    pic #
I like the way u treated the pic
usik lang kaayo ang moon gamay kaayo if only u shoot it pud with a
long lens and a tighter cropping pud para mudako ang moon.
    (hehehe sorry nag C&C nako)

but overall its quite soothing...bugnaw ang dating
unlike sa akong mga trips masunog ka sa kaanit.

the reasons why I didnt do a tighter frame in that shot:

    • i was on an old squeaking boat at the tip most in the back portion, i almost cant move alot or else me and my equipments will surely “take a bath” into a deep port sea. thus I cant go back and forth easily to the passenger seat area of which I left my bag to get more equipments. i even watched by the coast guards due they were also afraid that the floor I am on cant tolerate the weight anymore and shall collapse (im still not slim at that moment | pohon basin maka 34-24-34 na gyud ko ako balikon)
    • i was about only very few feet away from those boats in the frame(i shot that at 17mm), a telephoto lens cannot focus if it was I mounted to. And yes, I did test tight framing(of course | up to 40mm ra kaya kay dili na maka focus) but I dont like the output, some interesting depth of field, dead space, & elements were gone.
    • using a telephoto will not make that very distant moon getting near enough to be flattering unless youll force it and remove the foreground and other interesting elements. that crescent is too far for a 300mm to be bothered.
    • it was a snap due to tremendous passengers are coming already to occupy seats(mo-ilog pod) because it was a fiesta of the bound place. lisud gyud e plastar og pahimutang maayo for a good shot basta on travel ka, daghan kaayo factors og pirmi magdalidali plus the rapid-pray-to-God-shooting nga makuha nimo imong gusto sa imong gitirahan^^ natangtang pa gani akong hood ana sa akong baratohon nga lens kay na tangtang tungod sa kalisud sa akong porma, maayo gani naay nakadali og salu nga passenger pod(hapit pod tawn siya na umud pagkuha sa hood, ehehe) nga nag observe pod duol nako, ligid unta to derecho padulong dagat^^ ang gipatungana sa tulo ka tiil sa akong tripod kay 1-2inches ra nga gilapdon nga kahoy, gamayng irog kay i love the philippines gyud.
