wala na lain nag use ug sigma? guys pls comment....![]()
my friend has this lens and so happy with it. im also planning to get this lens but sadly im more interested to get an IS lense since i havent tested my cam (canon eos 400D) with an IS lens. im leaning more instead to the canon 55-250mm IS. im on a budget and this is what i can afford.
the sigma 70 - 300mm though is a good lens. ive tested the macro feature and its fairly ok. though not 1:1 but it does get a good picture.
According to Bob Atkin's website, Sigma has had (and still have) compatibility issues with Canon. He said that the 3rd party lens best for Canon is Tamron. Sigh... I guess I have to save up on a Canon lens then rather than risk compatibility problems.

I have used the the Sigma 70-300mm, i could say its an average lens. Its cheap but you can get a better image quality with an USM lens. Like pd79, the macro feature is quite ok.
Later I sold it cause it was not fast enough for my purposes and later upgraded to a 80-200mm f2.8
Here is a sample of the macro feature which I love.

very cheap lens. fast in daylight and average-to-slow in very lowlight conditions. it can give acceptable results if you know how to use.
sample basic photos i made from it:
