I think this topic should be move in Pet Discussion Category..
ideally you can have her studed when she will be on heat after 18 months of age but the required age of PCCI is i think only 12 months.

Ya Sui is right.. more on pet discussions ni... but honestly, never been to that thread at all.
Naa koy i-quote from a different website:
(actually, i-copy and paste ra nakoo kay i see a different istorya.net compared to you guys due to office limitations.)
"Usually, when a female is in heat, there is swelling of the vulva. There is also a bloody discharge and some vaginal secretions. But its also possible that your dog is a silent heater. In that case, it makes things more difficult.
Laboratory tests to help determine ovulation and estrous can be done. The more common and test done is a vaginal smear which checks for the amount of cornified cells. Although this is the cheaper and more commonly done test, it is not exactly accurate.
A more accurate test is through a blood sample in which the progesterone hormone along with the leutenizing hormone is quantified.
You should also consider doing tests to ensure that your bitch is fit to be bred.
IDEALLY, hips, patella, elbows, thyroid, heart, eyes, etc. (depending on the breed) should be tested to ensure their health. Also, Stud and bitches should be "clean" and in the best of health to ensure that no disease is transferred from one animal to the next."
