    Unhappy need help on How to make a buffalo airstation whr-g300n work with smart bro?

    I have this brand new buffalo airstation WHR-G300N.

    I install as instructed and goes along until would not let me somewhat connect the router and the smart bro internet connection.

    Here is what I notice:

    1* On the router device it is supposed to show 4 green LED lights on but the security LED light is orange;

    2* I used my PSP and wifi phones to scan if I can detect the wifi router and it does at a 100% since I was just right infront of it;

    3* with the Smart bro cable/modem directly connected to the router, I tried going to the internet on my PC but won't connect me to a website even if the internet connection icon says I am connected on my PC.

    4* I switched back the smart bro cable/modem to my pc and went online to find the (extended) usermanual and found to set this up "Log in to the Configuration Tool" but still would just get a "connection Timed out" response"..

    so I am not sure what to do now, and I don't want to be experimenting without advise or I might crash everything else that has been working so good.

    btw, I'm using Vista for my OS if it would matter but the package said it is compatible.

    Anyone who can help me on this please?

    update:
    guys after 14 hours of playing around i finally got it to work somewhat in a way that ! Thank you for all that posted.

    But overall i am only 75% satisfied with this item... the connecting part to the internet is what frustrates me because when a reboot is needed it takes several tries of the same process as the manual and as mentioned earlier to really get back working... oh well the reason was the waiting time gave me to do house chores Then when it all works connecting wifi to my laptop and wifi phones, when i want to us the PSP, the wifi connections to the laptops and phones need to be cut off to give way for AOSS connection for a PSP or gaming gadgets. So in short if you have a kid in the house that wants to use their game gadgets online and an adult who just wants to surf the internet or do emails from a laptop... one has to give way.

    do you guys know any other router that would make both wifi phones and laptops work at the same timewith game gadgets?

    to setup your router you need to connect your pc via utp first.

    - turn on modem
    -turn on router
    -turn on computer

    check the IP of the PC if it's under the 192.168.11.* range
    if not assign manually an ip using this range

    then connect to using IE or firefox to 192.168.11.1 for the configuration tool
    then configure...

    some instruction are in the manual.

    are you kidding me, what kinda router is that? only lets you use one device at a time to connect to the net? you need to go inside the router via the web interface and configure it to use DHCP. give it an IP range that matches the number of devices you need connected simultaneously. you also need to, and should, set your Wireless Security to use WPA2-Personal, TKIP+AES, then setup your Shared-Key to whatever you want. that should prevent your neighbors from stealing you internet connection. save everything and reboot the router. and also make sure your devices are setup to acquire IP addresses automatically.

    coolnezz...

    after trying to configure those keys several times... i decided for the meantime to keep the connection in "OPEN"

    as expected any items - laptops, cellphones, netbooks can simultaneously be connected at the same time. But for gaming gadgets like what I have is a PSP.... I have to turn on the AOSS settings which when activated will shut off all wireless connections. kun ako nasad pagngun ang AOSS then pwede na sad ko mu resume sa tanan wifi connections na previously set up or once na mu pick up sa scan.

    mao na akoa experience. unless naay maka tudlo nako ug unsaon na madungan na sya.. sa karon wala koy choice.

    kailanghan maka support sad sila ug aoss para mu auto na sila once mu connect ang psp. or imo i disable ang aoss ug imo i set sa configuration page kng unsa imo SSID.

    * Even if your client device doesn’t officially support AOSS, you may still be able to use
    AOSS if you install Buffalo’s Client Manager software on your computer. It works with
    most client devices, including many made by other manufacturers. You can download
    it from Buffalo Technology - Select Your Region.
