Type of Position: Project-based Part-Time or Full-Time
Work Time Zone: Some PST timezone (Vancouver Canada time) availability is ideal so we can talk, but most working hours can be completed in your own timezone regular daytime work hours.
Daily Reporting and Accountability: Daily written email report to be provided in the Basecamp project management system (37signals.com) that we’ll provide for your project(s).
Daily Work Description:

We require a project-based full-time or part-time Wordpress developer/designer who can install and fully customize all aspects of a number of different wordpress website projects. This includes all programming, css, text and design modifications.

Previous wordpress programming/design customization experience required. Provide samples of websites worked on and list the specific tasks you performed in the creation/modification/maintenance of each site.
Communications & Tools to be used
-all tasks/communications will be made via a Basecamp project (37signals)
-daily Basecamp project extranet email reports required
-Skype access required for audio/video/text communications
-dropbox access
-Lastpass.com account provided
Experience in the following areas would be a definite asset
-Adobe Business Catalyst programming/design/webmastering would be a bonus but not essential for this job
-Adobe Photoshop design experience would be an asset when customizing wordpress sites. (Please describe your level of graphic design & photoshop experience.)
-SEO ( Knowledge of Search engine optimization best practices is an asset but SEO expertise is not an essential requirement for this position. You won’t be required to perform SEO tasks (optimizing content, link building etc) but the more you know about how to setup sites
so they’re SEO friendly the better. Please describe your level of SEO experience.)
Sites worked on cannot be listed in any websites, social networks, personal portfolios or any online location.
Below are examples of the types of tasks that can make up projects you’ll be working on:
Sample project 1: install a purchased wordpress theme on Bluehost then customize the
theme (css, graphics, templates, navigation, content) to make it fully unique based
on ideas/samples we provide from other websites that we’d like added to the wordpress site.
Sample project 2: Make an existing static html site into a custom wordpress site. (moving content/photos/links to the new wordpress site)
Sample project 3: install/customize appthemes.com wordpress sites – eg install/customize
jobroller and vantage themes onto same website, modify designs so the two themes have common design/navigation/branding all on one domain/website, create custom homepage.
Sample project 4: Buddypress or similar wordpress membership solution installed/customized on a wordpress site
Sample project 5: Wordpress site social media integration – adding social network widgets, icons and/or enabling users to login to a site login using their facebook login.
Sample project 6: integrate World Choice Travel Partner Program travel affiliate program into a wordpress site. Customize the design/layout of the wctravel affiliate content

-Compensation: $500-$650/mo for full time depending on skills, experience and abilities.
