i dont have a recipe but i find that Chiu Chow Chili Oil (try to find this in bigger stores like in SM and Ayala) comes very close to the siomai sauce here. i have been using that in the US as a substitute for the sauce used here in cebu. what surprised me now is the addition of calamansi to the chili oil/sauce among the vendors here in cebu. you may have to add soy sauce to taste too. but i just use the chiu chow chili oil as is.

It's just easy to make chili sauce for siomai. I cut tons of chili and garlic into small piece, saute using cooking oil and little butter until golden brown. If you want it to have a taste of sweet, you can put some brown sugar on it. It will also make the sauce a little thicker. Hope this will help you.
