i don't know what to say really. wala man gi post ang mga buildings sa davao para isulti sa world nga tag as kaayo to sila. ang gipangayo sa thread is buildings 10+ storeys high that's why i search the net for those. what surprise me for a mindanaoan like you is that, you dont seem to know that only davao city has a building 10 storeys high and up. i would cease to exist from this forum or kill my noisy neighbor if anybody could post a picture of an existing building in mindanao outside davao that is at least 11 storeys high. morag nagduda na hinuon ko kung nakasuroy na ba ka sa mindanao o nag tag an tag an lang ka.

taga davao ka pero wala ka kabalo na ang bajada layo na sa hilltop ug halos dili na makita?
12, 15 and 17 storeys shown here are not that tall, but it sure pass the thread criteria. just my 2 cents.

of course klaro ang marco polo sa downtown kay mao may pinakataas sa davao at 71 meters.

Taga davao man diay ka i wouldn't be hostile to you.

Just this, hasn't it occurred to you you while your standing sa hilltop or jack's ridge or sa shrine that davao is a vast expanse and you can see tall building scattered in your field of view. It is not packed in a small cramped space, while reckoned from there it would seem your in a concrete jungle, but mind you I have been to all the major cities in mindanao and their talls are equivalent to our midrise buildings sprawling here and there and that's what you see in that vantage point. Dili pang hinambog but it's a matter of pride lang na meron tayong mga much taller buildings na kailangang ma post for others to know coz it's one of the reasons na may forums/threads like this para ipaalam at mapag usapan. Maybe it's just too much for you and i can sense na you have sympathy for the underdogs. But all these posts are not absolute, as of now yun ang reality. When the time comes na all our neighboring cities will have skyscrapers dwarfing ours then that will be another scenario. Till then Davao still has the edge over theirs in that aspect and that's one thing to be proud of, IMO the posts are still in the context of this thread.

If you have it flaunt it.

    Love you eLay

    City Hall hits revenue target
    By Grace L. Plata

THE City Government of Davao hit its 2007 revenue target even surpassing it by a slight two percent.

Councilor Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz, chair of the City Council committee on finance, ways and means and appropriations, during her Tuesday's session said the city's revenue-generating and collection departments deserve commendation for this achievement.

The city forecasted a total revenue of P2,934,510,011 but its actual revenue collection is P2,986,277,733 for calendar year 2007.

This performance is P51.7 million or 2 percent over the projected figure.

The 2007 collection is also higher than 2006 by P242,122,587 or 9 percent making it the third year in a row that the actual collection has surpassed revenue forecast.

The top revenue performers are Service Income (surpassed target by P31.4 million or 25 percent), Permits and Licenses (surpassed target by P26.7 million or 40 percent), Economic Enterprise (surpassed target by 6.3 million or 10 percent) and Business Income (surpassed target by P1.6 million or 30 percent).

The biggest shortfalls in revenue collection, however, are in terms of local taxes and interest income. Local taxes were short by P7.5 million or 1 percent compared to target while interest income fell short by P6.6 million compared to target.

The biggest losers in the local taxes was in terms of business taxes, with a shortfall of P28.6-million against target; and real property taxes which was P7.7 million below target.

"This is mainly due to the previous years uncollected taxes from government agencies which cannot be collected anymore as a result of a court ruling," Ortiz explained.

The shortfalls in local tax collection, however, were offset by franchise tax, that surpassed its target by P11 million and property transfer tax, which exceeded its target by P8.4 million.
