With a string of exciting events and activities to take place in the coming months, c

Starting the campaign off, the country's leading financial services organization joined this year's Ironman 70.3 on Aug. 6. Fielding five relay teams and one individual racer.

Leading their strong line-up was Sun Life's brand ambassador Piolo Pascual. Together with fellow actor Enchong Dee and Toniel Ty.

Sun Life CEO and country head Riza Mantaring said that the 16-man triathlon team is composed of the company's own executives and advisors who embody Sun Life's commitment to health and wellness.

"Sun Life has taken part in the Iron Man many times. Yet, the excitement it brings never gets old," Mantaring said.

Mylene Lopa, Sun Life's chief marketing officer, said that this was Sun Life's biggest contingent. Since it marked its presence as an annual contender in one of the country's most anticipated races back in 2013.

"We are kicking things up a notch higher this year... We are trying to grow the number (of team members) to (encourage more people) to get into a healthy lifestyle," Lopa told the members of the media at the sidelines of their press conference held last Aug. 5 at the Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa.

The finisher medal and the trophy awarded to triumphant racers of the Iron Man 70.3 were once again designed by multi-awarded industrial designer Kenneth Cobonpue who is also Sun Life's brand ambassador.

Sun Life is rolling out more health and wellness-driven initiatives in all parts of the country to raise the consciousness of Filipinos in making their physical well-being as their top priority along with financial literacy and freedom.

On Nov. 18 and 19, and Jan. 20, 2018, Sun Life together with Sunrise Events, Inc., will be staging the Sunpiology Duo at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. Formerly an annual fun run, Sunpiology Duo will now be evolving into a two-fold event that will consist of running and cycling.

Sun Life and Sunrise Events, Inc. had inked their event partnership deal on Aug. 5 at Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa. In this synergy, the two companies aim to move the Filipinos' physical well-being and the country's sports tourism closer to a brighter spot.

Sun Life had also formed a community called GoWell. A community that promotes holistic wellness through a fit and active lifestyle, healthy diet and living a balanced life. At the moment, GoWell has 5,000 active members and counting.

"Along with helping them achieve a lifetime of financial security, we also want to teach them to live healthier lives. We can't just enjoy all our money without good health," Lopa said. (Dominic Yasay)
