Radisson Blu Cebu warmly welcomes the appointment of their new general manager, Laurent Boisdron. A French-American national, Boisdron steps in for the former General Manager, Nishan Silva.
A seasoned hotelier, he is well traversed in the hospitality industry with a career mapping countries and continents spanning to 22 years. He has an ideal blend of urban and resort experience having held positions in acclaimed properties and corporate offices of renowned brands in key cities of Europe such as Barcelona, Paris, London and Brussels to North America in Chicago, Boston, Miami, then to the Middle East in Dubai. His most recent role was based in Minneapolis, USA handling corporate responsibilities for the Carlson Rezidor Worldwide Head Office providing support and strategic leadership for the group’s owned and managed hotels.
He holds an extensive background in hospitality management having obtained higher education in France, as well as in the Carlson Business School, USA. He has hosted a number of esteemed events including dinners for the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the oldest and most prestigious international gastronomic society devoted to the promotion of fine dining; for the Executives’ Club of Chicago, one of America’s top business forums; and for the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, a highly acclaimed culinary school. In 2007, he was instrumental in launching the Norwegian Cruise Line’s luxury vessel, the Norwegian Gem. Previously, he was part of the pre and post opening of the first new generation of Sofitel Luxury Hotels in the Middle East serving as the Director of Food & Beverage.
Passionate and forward thinking, Boisdron launched the Catering to Go for Blu bringing the 5-star catering service of the hotel to offsite social and corporate events, a concept he first initiated in Radisson Blu Aqua in Chicago, USA. In Cebu, the project was rolled out in March during the Emirates Airlines Cebu-Dubai inaugural flight.
New Hotel Manager on Board
Another valuable addition to the Radisson Blu Cebu team is Hotel Manager, Fabien Martinez bringing with him a vast experience of 22 years. Also a French national, Martinez possesses a culinary background having started as an Executive Chef before serving as Director of Food & Beverage for award winning resorts and hotels. Not entirely new to Cebu, Martinez has been the Executive Sous Chef for Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa in 2001. Prior to his tenure he served as the Interim General Manager of Sheraton Shanghai Hongkou Hotel in Shanghai, China.
The new appointment of Boisdron and Martinez, heralds an exciting era for Radisson Blu Cebu as they take the helm in leading the team forward as the prime business hotel in Cebu with a line-up of fresh and innovative concepts.
