• #MTK (Magbuwag Ta Kay), first independent film to be shown nationwide

The long wait is finally over! #MTK (Magbuwag Ta Kay) is going to be shown in theaters nationwide by VIVA Films. Definitely, the Bisaya RomCom is making history being the first independent Bisaya film to be distributed by a huge film producer from Manila.

“It’s high time to create an industry for VisMin and #MTK is a beautiful movie that appeals to Filipinos and further our goals to set a Bisaya film industry,” Vice-President for Operations of Viva South, Vicente Eduardo “Verb” del Rosario, said.

The nationwide release will be a huge boost to Bisaya film industry and this has always been one of the film producer’s dreams to put Cebu on the Philippine film industry map.

Sunshine Lim of Heritage production dreams to make a pure Bisaya film with a Bisaya cast and crew working together. Along with her supportive husband, Charles Lim, she put up Heritage Productions to make quality films that reflect the Bisaya culture, humor and at the same time sending a message to the millennials about family values.
Heritage Productions believe in social media influencer, Roy Ucat aka Medyo Maldito that he is perfect for the film because of the influence he has on people. You can see a different Roy in the movie apart from the Medyo Maldito we see in social media.

#MTK is written by Jude Gitamondoc and Therese Marie Villarante, directed by Janice Perez and Reuben Joseph Aquino. It stars Rowell Ucat as Roy, Akiko Solon as Kay, Mark Anthony Abucejo aka Snake Princess, Dante Luzon as Roy’s father, Ligaya Rabago as Roy’s mother, Rio Delizo as Roy’s deaf brother, and Roy’s friends played by Alem Garcia, Kurt Fick, and many others.
