When diners are asked for their preference, whether they would care for coffee or tea, the latter has quickly gained popularity in a largely coffee-drinking community. To address this, the Cebu City Marriott Hotel has incorporated an exciting new tea siphon station for all meetings and corporate functions.
Incorporating simple laws of physics and molecular gastronomy, Marriott's team has skillfully mastered the art of creating infused tea drinks to suit the guest's preference. Initially, the more popular choice of green tea is served with an infusion of herbs and other aromatics like citrus peel, mint leaves, lemongrass and the like. Other tea flavors include: jasmine, chamomile, earl grey, English breakfast, and peppermint.
In a nutshell, the bottom container is filled with the prescribed amount and the desired flavor of tea. It is completely heated in approximately 4-5 minutes. At that point, it gets siphoned to the top chamber and takes another 2-3 additional minutes to brew as the flavors get infused with the herbs and natural ingredients. Once the siphon is removed, the drink comes down to bottom carafe and it can be served directly from the bottom container.
Hot infused drinks are fast becoming a creative and healthy alternative to enjoy unique combinations of flavors. Best paired with cakes and pastries, this new alternative, takes enjoying a simple cup of tea to a whole new level of brilliant dining.
