    Marco Polo Plaza Cebu has always put a premium on the health and safety of our guests and associates. As we adapt and move forward in the current landscape that we are in, we have set stricter health and safety guidelines and protocols in place to ensure that the hotel is ready for the New Normal.

    Under the management of Wharf Hotels, we launched a series of new Biosecurity Protocols committed to the well-being of our guests, colleagues and partners. Amplifying its core values including exceptional service and integrity, the Biosecurity Protocols ensure that all 17 properties under Wharf Hotels implement upgraded health and hygiene standards in line with the World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) global protocols, enabling guests to continue their journeys of #SafeTravels with ease.

    Biosecurity Protocols
    The protocols are divided into five main categories: for all guests, for checked-in guests, for restaurants, banquets and events, for hotel transportation, and for recreational services.

    “We are excited to welcome everyone back. Our team is working round the clock to ensure that stringent sanitary measures are in place. We are ready to open,” said Marco Polo Plaza General Manager Brian Connelly.

    Protocols include requirement of wearing face masks at all times, foot baths on all entry points of the hotel, sanitizing of hands and temperature check of every guest and associate, and cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces in public spaces and restrooms every two hours.

    Social distancing is also strictly implemented in all areas of the hotel. There are social distancing floor markers by the front desk, elevators, and restrooms. Table arrangement and seating at restaurants have also been adjusted to ensure that social distancing is being practiced.

    In restaurants, paperless menus are downloadable via QR codes, while laminated ones that are constantly disinfected are also available. Face Mask holders can also be provided for guests’ convenience. Dine-in will only be allowed through reservation to ensure social distancing.

    Rooms are thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and remains unused for 24 hours before it can accommodate new guests. Reminder cards will be given to each guest to ensure that they are aware of all the protocols that have been put in place. These are also visible through signages in most public spaces.

    The hotel has a fully operational emergency response team, with a Duty Manager and nurse on duty 24/7, trained and equipped to handle delicate situations should the need arises.
