• Crimson Resort Slipper Race raised 369k for empowering women and children

      The 7th Slipper Race organized by Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan raised 369,550 for Philippine Accessible Disability Services’ Empowering Women and Children through Adaptive Sports and Recreational Rehabilitation. The event last Saturday, 22nd June was attended by 63 participating teams from different industries and organizations.

      Slipper race is a fund raising event to support the education of less-privileged but deserving children and youth. To join the race, participants must from a team of five members and donate P5,000 where 100% of the amount collected is donated to the chosen organization.

      The teams along with Crimson Management did a ceremonial walk prior to the race, a symbolic walk that puts everyone on the shoe of the students who walk 3-5 kilometers each day to be able to go to school. After the walk, each 63 teams tackled the challenges of the five pit stops where they had to do relay and team tasks. The three fastest teams to finish all obstacles emerged as winners.

      First time participants ACDI took the first place completing the race in 53 minutes, AM SWISS bagged second place and Dragon Fireworks completed the podium finishers in 59 minutes. Four lucky participants took home hotel vouchers from Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay, Quest Plus and Conference Center, Clark, and F1 Hotel Manila.

      Empowering Women and Children Through Sports is a program especially designed to assist deaf women and children, especially those who were abused to join sports rehabilitation to promote increased confidence, improve health and enhanced academic success. The program will also include educating the community and community helpers in assisting persons with disability in abuse cases.
