“Our first trip to Cebu last year was a big success as we had over 200,000 visitors flocking through the Book Sale choosing their gem and since then we’ve heard many requests from readers over the past year to bring back the Sale here. We’re more than glad and excited to return to Cebu, and creating this platform to inspire people and empower them with knowledge,” said Jacqueline Ng, Founder of Big Bad Wolf Books.
Bookworms can have first dibs on their favorite titles during the Sale’s exclusive VIP Day on August 15. Over 4,000 VIP passes will be up for grabs on its Facebook and Instagram page in the days leading up to the event.
Aside from bringing the best in quality English books to all book lovers, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale also believes in giving back to the community. Big Bad Wolf Books’ CSR arm is continuing its Red Readerhood Programme here in Cebu by giving back to the society through the partnership with Gawad Kalinga to furnish Gawad Kalinga’s (GK) community libraries and schools with more books. The partnership aims to encourage reading, improve literacy, and provide learning opportunities. To kick-start the initiative, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale Cebu will be donating 500 books and customers are also enjoined to take part in the advocacy and donate books at the Sale.
In 2019, over 6,838 books were donated to GK partner communities, libraries and schools around the Philippines during the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale in Manila, while 2,515 books were donated through the Sale in Pampanga.
Now in its 10th year, Big Bad Wolf Books aims to encourage reading by providing high-quality English books at low prices, with Sales in more cities in countries such as Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
