      An Evening of Culture, Music, and Friendship highlights the 76th Korean National Day


      The Korean Consulate in Cebu celebrated the 76th Korean National Day at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. Consul General Yim Jeanhyuk led the event. It attracted a lively mix of local officials, leaders from the tourism, business, and hospitality sectors, and friends from Korea and the Philippines, all coming together to commemorate over seventy years of friendship and cultural exchange, a testament to the global community we all share. The night came alive with vibrant colors and rich artistic expressions.

      A joyful ambiance filled with authentic Korean charm welcomed the guests. A special corner showcased hanboks, inviting attendees to try on traditional Korean garments, while a photo booth captured their beaming smiles and colorful moments. The evening's menu featured a delicious array of Korean-inspired dishes like japchae, kimbap, kimchi, and bulgogi, alongside an international buffet highlighting both nations' culinary diversity and shared tastes.

      The Imagine your Korea" tourism campaign played on loop during breaks. This slogan for South Korea aims to showcase the country's diverse culture, vibrant experiences, and unique attractions. It promotes various travel ideas, from exploring traditional sites and natural landscapes to enjoying modern pop culture, such as K-pop and K-dramas. The campaign encourages potential tourists to envision their ideal trip to Korea for leisure or business.

      In his speech, Consul General Yim Jeanhyuk expressed gratitude for Cebu's warm hospitality and emphasized the strengthening relationship between South Korea and the Philippines. "This evening is a celebration not just of our national day, but of the friendship and mutual respect that continues to exist between our peoples," he remarked.
