Southwestern University (SWU) and the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO) have signed a partnership agreement to provide physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT) internship opportunities for SWU students in Abu Dhabi.
The agreement was signed by ZHO Secretary General His Excellency Abdulla Abdulalee Alhumaidan and Ms. Cheryl Jane Chan, COO of PHINMA Education, in a ceremony witnessed by Philippine Ambassador to UAE His Excellency Alfonso Ferdinand Ver.
Under the agreement, SWU students can complete their PT and OT internships at ZHO's rehabilitation centers in Abu Dhabi. The internship will allow students to gain hands-on experience working with ZHO, which will help them prepare for their future careers.
"We are honored to partner with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination," said Cheryl Chan. "This partnership will allow our students to gain invaluable experience working with People of Determination and to learn from the world-class rehabilitation services offered by ZHO."
"We are committed to supporting the development of the next generation of physical and occupational therapists," said His Excellency Alhumaidan. "This partnership with Southwestern University will help us achieve this goal by allowing students to train and work in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation centers."
Philippine Ambassador to UAE, His Excellency Alfonso Ferdinand Ver, welcomed the partnership between SWU and ZHO. "This partnership is a testament to the strong ties between the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates," he said. "It is also a testament to the commitment of both countries to provide high-quality education in specialized healthcare."
The SWU and ZHO partnership is a significant development for the field of physical therapy and occupational therapy in the Philippines and the UAE. It will help to ensure that both countries have a pool of highly skilled and experienced PTs and OTs to meet the needs of their growing populations.
