• The Cebu Food and Wine Festival 2026

The Cebu Food and Wine Festival (CFWF) has blossomed from its pandemic roots, where it began as a community lifeline focused on reducing hunger and waste, into a vibrant annual celebration that showcases Cebu's culinary richness. This festival is more than just a feast; it actively promotes food security, supports local farmers, and boosts community resilience, making it highly relevant and impactful for attendees and stakeholders.

Organized through strong partnerships among local hotels, restaurants, chefs, and public-sector allies, the CFWF originated during the challenging times of 2020-2021. From humble beginnings focused on food bank initiatives to reduce waste and combat hunger, it has evolved into one of Cebu's signature events eagerly anticipated by food lovers each year.

What truly sets this festival apart is the powerful teamwork that unites local hotels, government entities, farmers, and international partners. The mission is clear: to celebrate Cebu's rich food culture and establish it as a recognized culinary destination both locally and globally, fostering a sense of pride and anticipation.

Festival-goers and culinary enthusiasts are invited to dive into a culinary adventure, interact with talented chefs, taste an array of mouthwatering dishes, and participate in exclusive workshops and tastings. This engagement helps visitors experience Cebu's vibrant food scene firsthand and encourages culinary professionals to showcase their skills, fostering deeper involvement and excitement.

      Farm-to-Table and Culinary Innovations
According to Ms. Mia Singson-Leon, General Manager of Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan, the festival thrives on powerful partnerships and community initiatives. Notably, local farmers from Mantalongon have teamed up with local hotels to ensure a steady supply of fresh produce tailored to the dining scene.

      Current initiatives include:
      - Timely delivery of fresh produce to restaurants and hotels.
      - Showcasing small local businesses at festival booths to bolster the community's economy.
      - Collaborating with farmers to provide a diverse range of products that appeal to discerning diners.

Marco Polo Hotels shines as a champion of the farm-to-table movement, featuring in-house farmers' markets and direct-from-farm sales at its beloved Saturday Farmers' Market. This cherished weekend tradition connects local farmers, artisan brands, and families passionate about supporting local.

Skill Building and Collaborative Chef Ventures
Cebu draws inspiration from renowned international food festivals, such as the Hawaiian Food and Wine Festival, to elevate its culinary scene. Exciting collaborations between local chefs and the provincial government aim to ensure that food security and culinary innovation remain a priority year-round. There's talk of launching competitions akin to MasterChef to showcase local dishes and talents.

One highlight is the partnership with the Australian Trade Commission through the Aussie Lamb Campaign, which generously provided over $10,000 in premium Australian lamb to festival chefs.

Creative Culinary Techniques with Local Ingredients
Recent years have seen chefs take bold steps in using local ingredients like Adlai rice alongside international flavors, resulting in exciting, innovative dishes.

This year, the highlight is on the Australian lamb through the Aussie Lamb Campaign. Each participating hotel or restaurant is tasked with crafting two signature lamb dishes that will be a highlight during the month-long celebration.

The festival kicked off with a bang during the first major event, "Signature of Flavors," held at Crimson Mactan on June 13, 2026. This grand opening of the Cebu Food & Wine Festival brought together over 40 celebrated chefs, premium wines and spirits, local artisans, and culinary enthusiasts for an unforgettable evening overflowing with creativity and connection.

Each moment of the festival not only highlights remarkable culinary creations but also celebrates the vibrant spirit of Cebu's food scene and the passionate individuals working tirelessly to elevate it.
