internet sharing how 2 configure.

mga bro, i have two PC's nd i want to share the internet 2 both PC how to configure man? for i think eserver nako ang isa den eworkstation nako ang other PC. nd im thinking of installing 2000 to the server and the workstation kay 98 lang. ok ra unsaon na pag configure? and i have a hub man sad den ako internet is dial up. need ur knowledge bout dis mga bro.........

bro, pentium III ra man gud ang ako usa ka computer den ang workstations kay pentium ra. mao na jud na final set up nga OS nako. awss kung naa mo suggestions nga ok pa sa ako set ok ra.....

use your win2000 as the dailer. then enable internet connection sharing to give your windows 98 access to the internet. If you are using a serial or usb na dial up modem then you can just directly connect both pc using a cross over cable.

bro, tamblot cross over ba ang gamiton dili ba straight thru cable ang gamiton? i think straight thru jud pero hub 2 modem cross over i think need for clarification evry1.....

pc to pc is cross over cable. pc to switch is straight through.

hey, xinnuj

do not use hub, because hub will change the speed of your dial-up.

i want u to use a cross over cable only,

since 1st pc has internet connection wtih dial up, you must have 1 lan card(NIC) on each pc. then establish a new network connection by checking a file sharing, if the two pc are already on the network, configure the internet connection of the second pc by connecting to the computer having internet connection already.

this is faster than using a hub, remember hub will decrease the bits transferred.

switch or hub is gasto-gasto lang para sa duha ka pc. hinoon magamit for expansion

win2000 will be the dialer... ENABLE ICS(internet connection sharing) to it.

network them three.. set your client pc's gateway ip to the IP of your server(win2000)

no DNS.. leave it blank.
