Basically kaning mga ingon ana nga gaba-an daw tungod sad kay tag-as kaayo ug rate ang pautang, or unsa, labaw na sa 5-6, nga 20% ang interest. Then if magka misfortune ang nag pa-utang, ato dayon ingnon nga gaba-an. I think mabaw ra gyud ang argument nga ingnon dayon nga gaba-an tungod sa 5-6, though ako guilty pud ko ana..hehe..

Nakasulti raman gud ko ana nga makagaba na, basing sa akong naobserbahan, though wala gyud siya concrete nga evidence or example, puro lang mga sulti-sulti or unsa.

Naa lang gyud ko gamay nga disinclination ani nga business, kay sa tanaw sa kani nga business wala man gud ka giproduce nga goods, something in return para nga bayran. You are just lending money and nothing else, no services or something to compensate for the interest, Unlike aning mga karenderya, fast food ug restaurant, nga nag mark-up ug dako that they have to come up with something para nga ma offer sa ilang costumer, then if naka appreciate ka sa ilang effort then comes the payment.

Murag ani ba, You do something good para mo return nimo something good pud. It's a two way street. Wherein naa choice ang costumer for his/her next purchase.

You are almost giving no choices sa costumer, and you are not giving something or some goods in return para sa interest nga iyang gibayran.

Actually I think they should not be in the same sentence, when it comes to comparing.

It is worth noting nga dili dapat i compare ang karenderya, restaurant, fastfood sa lending, because they are in a different accounting. Kay:

Sa karenderya, restaurant ug fastfood - goods, services, quality food, are being offered to the costumer, which are direct to costumer items which he/she can enjoy and appreciate, while

Sa lending - debt " almost equivalent to death to the costumer" joke hehe.. ang imong gi offer with interest pa gyud sa iyaha. You are offering money which gives indirect satisfaction.

I'm not judging that it's bad at 20% mark-up, kaso wala man gud pud nag ingon nga maayo siya. Ma maayo lang tingale ni siya if you are lending for a purpose say mag start ug business, nga imo siyang tabangan by lending him/her money. But that would be subjective, for example one of the most successful microfinance company in the world, lead by Muhammad Yunus the Grameen bank is lending money to the poor with no collateral but first ila usang i-training or tagaan usa ug idea or educate usa nila about business and financial education and i qualify pa gyud nila nga creditworthy ang tawo before mapa-utang, so they are lending money + services which makes it a direct trade.

I hope I did not offend anybody, I'm just saying my point on the post..

Ikaw man gud TS joke.. hehe PEACE.. ^_^ V
I got your point bai.. but Lending institutions such as bank and micro financing (iapil na pud nato ang 5-6) are all service oriented. They are helping borrowers when you needed cash, may it be business or personal needs. Fast foods (and others) are also helping us when we are lets say "hungry". But take note lending company helps us in all our financial needs such as para tuition, para hospital, or investment. You cant get help thru other institution (such as example sa fastfoods, makautang ba ka para bayad sa tuition?). In other words, lendings are service oriented companies that we need them. Talking about 20% interest, thats the choice we made if mangutang ta niya. If we go to the bank YES gamay interest but "are you qualified" to apply loan? Bank only grants loan to selected few, and the process takes time and most of all its only for business, housing, car loan, or other business related. In short, if you are in dire need of money (emergency), the bank is not a place for us. Didto gyud ka sa Micro Lending institution. Will this mean na ang bank dapat gabaan kay deli sila makautang nimo in times of trouble? Its now up to us if we curse the micro lending companies na sila ra man diay atong maduulan. Maski atong parente if ignon nimo pautanga ko interesan nato 5%, mubalibad pa man gani...

    anyway just a though.

Yep, bro you're right.. I get your point...

Also I believe these two should not be in the same statement, because sometimes the word "service" is mistaken only as lending.

Taking this thing on each side.

From the lender's side, would you say you are giving him service by just letting him borrow money?
    hmmm, basically I think not.

From the borrower's side, would you consider you are being served because you were borrowed money?

Sa banko man gud it is considered service kay before ka nila pautangon ila man ka i evaluate if credit worthy baka, that is considered service kay ila man ka gi evaluate kung kanang imong gi utang maayo ba na para nimo. (pause)

Example mag start ka ug business if dili ka kapasar sa ilang requirements they are giving you a favor, kay if dili ka kapasar, mao na ang imong basehan nga basin naa kay nasipyat sa imong pag analyze sa imong business, mao na tagaan ka nila ug hint or unsa pinaagi sa pag evaluate sa imong credit worthiness, and I think there is "service" there.

If salary loan, housing loan, car loan or unsa pa nga klase sa loan, mao ra gihapon, before ka mangutang ila gihapon ka i-evaluate before ka pa-utangon so again there is service there. Naa man gud uban diha magpataka lang ug utang, kana kung dili ka pa-utagon sa banko, gitagaan ka ug pabor ana nila, nagpasabot na nga kanang imong gi utang dako kaayo ug chance nga dili ka kabayad or sayop ang imong pag to-o nga maka bayad baka. So again they are giving you service. Giluwas ka nila sa ka ala-ot, kay basin hinuon maputos ka sa utang maparehas anang uban diha nga utang na pud ang ibayad sa utang, and that is very bad. Nagpatong patong ang imong utang ana.

So i compare nato sa 5-6%, ako lang pangutana, naa ba gibuhat ang nag pa 5-6% nimo nga "service"? gi evaluate baka or unsa para matabangan ka? Mruag wala man di ba? basta lang gipa utang ka. mao na ang akong gi ingon nga one way ra ang ilang gibuhat, dili nana siya "tabang" nga maka ayo nimo, it is otherwise. Walay "service" nga nahitabo sa ilang side.

Please take note lang nga ang kaning "5-6 or 20% parehas raman na sila" ang akong gipasabot ani.

I personally think 20% interest weekly is not just and it is a huge amount of interest. Imagine 20%*12*4 = 960% annually ug dili pa na compounding ha.. wew!@#@$ not even Warren Buffett can achieve this kind of growth or whatever you might want to call it..

murag nig ang imong 1 peso mahimong 9.6 inig kahuman sa tuig, assuming wala nimo bayri. murag ok ra no? what if
mangutang ka ug 1000 at the end of the year mahimo na ug 9600 pesos, this is outrageous.

Before choosing asa ka mangloan may it be personal or business, unta makabalo ka ug unsa na ang imong gisudlan.

This is just my opinion but I don't want anyone to convince me otherwise.

Enough said on this topic.. I won't be replying to this thread anymore.. ^_^v

Hehehe unsa man ni.. open forum man unta ni..

Anyway, ang lending busines, may it be 5-6 or not (lesser interest) is still a service oriented. Ang service na gihatag ani is "Lending services". Don't be too literal na muingon ka deli service oriented ni na negosyo kay wala ka gi-evalute?? mao bitaw na ang banko mupautang nimo only for business/ housing/ auto loan. In times of emergency adto gyud ang tao sa Lending. Again ang ilang services is pautang.

Ang point lang ani is 20 percent per month is high and the max mandated sa central bank is only 7% per month (ambot if nausab ni karun) for legitimate Lending. Pero lending companies that gives only 5% / month max okey ra na siya. Deli tanan lending makagaba in other words...

Just weigh your options asa ang mas bug-at nimo. Naa ne pros and cons.

5-6 = dako mawala nimo esp. if managan ang mga tawo dili mamayad

prenda = determining the value of the item can be very difficult and it requires expertise

Bisan asa ka ane duha TS, it's how you handle your business if you want to make sure that things go the long way.
