A Letter for my Alter-Ego, my confidant, my friend

Dear Self,

I am deeply sorry for everything, especially those times where I caused you pain. For being so hard on you, for treating you like a total stranger in my existence. You see, I need help myself. I grew up with no one to comfort me in my fears, my hatred and my miseries. I don’t have anyone to share my happiness and my aspirations in life. Even though you have always been there, but, I have grown miserable, hateful and vengeful that I even forgot to thank you for never leaving my side. I always directed myself on conquering my weaknesses and developing my strengths that I failed to appreciate the goodness of your presence.

You remember those times when I started falling in love? Those times where I have grown immensely obsessed and passionate with that person that I have taken you for granted? I care very little of you and sometimes I hate you for the insecurities and flaws I have that has made the other person unhappy and unsatisfied about me. And when he left for good, I cursed you. I damned you for all the hurt that God knows were totally strange and painful for me. But no matter what I did to make you leave me, you never took an inch back. You stayed with me through the days, the hours the seconds and milliseconds of my life, keeping me whole.... keeping me sane.

With all that has happened-- people hated me, loved me, loathed me.... You were my first line of defense to every ego-shattering remark they incurred. And every time I write, you were the inspiration behind the words. You were the meaning behind my boisterous laugh, my kind smile and my helpful hands. I thank you for your patience and for loving more when I loved you less and hated you most. Those times were over and thanks to you.

I could only promise to be good with you Self, as long as I live. I hope you will forgive me for everything. I know you will.

Sincerely yours,

Me

Evolutionary Philosophy

Leonardo was an artist, not a scholar, and so his imagination was not confined by the boundaries of contemporary scholarly thinking. Fortunately for us, we are able to gain an insight into his ideas as they were preserved as entries in his notebooks. On the subject of ‘True Science’, Leonardo wrote ...

Consider how much trust society places in ancient writings about the human soul, although such a thing cannot be proven to exist, and yet consider how little we understand about the tangible things around us that are easy to observe.
Many people will probably accuse me of attempting to discredit men who are highly respected as being authorities in their field even though they have no science behind what they say. Many will refuse to acknowledge that my conclusions are instead drawn from real experience.
Only through experience can you know what is true or false, and this is why wise men take care to only make claims about things that can be observed. Nothing true can come from ignorance, and trying to uphold unproven claims only leads to despair.
I am well aware that because I did not study the ancients, some foolish men will accuse me of being uneducated. They will say that because I did not learn from their schoolbooks, I am unqualified to express an opinion. But I would reply that my conclusions are drawn from first-hand experience, unlike the scholars who only believe what they read in books written by others.
Although I cannot quote from authors in the same way they do, I shall rely on a much worthier thing, actual experience, which is the only thing that could ever have properly guided the men that they learn from.
These scholars strut around in a pompous way, without any thoughts of their own, equipped only with the thoughts of others, and they want to stop me from having my own thoughts. And if they despise me for being an inventor, then how much more should they be despised for not being inventors but followers and reciters of the works of others.
When the followers and reciters of the works of others are compared to those who are inventors and interpreters between Nature and man, it is as though they are non-existent mirror images of some original. Given that it is only by chance that we are invested with human form, I might think of them as being a herd of animals.
Those who try to censor knowledge do harm to both knowledge and love, because love is the offspring of knowledge, and the passion of love grows in proportion to the certainty of knowledge. The more we know about nature, the more we can be certain of what we know, and so the more love we can feel for nature as a whole.
Of what use are those who try to restrict what we know to only those things that are easy to comprehend, often because they themselves are not inclined to learn more about a particular subject, like the subject of the human body.
And yet they want to comprehend the mind of God, talking about it as though they had already dissected it into parts. Still they remain unaware of their own bodies, of the realities of their surroundings, and even unaware of their own stupidity.
Along with the scholars, they despise the mathematical sciences, which are the only true sources of information about those things which they claim to know so much about. Instead they talk about miracles and write about things that nobody could ever know, things that cannot be proven by any evidence in nature.
It seems to me that all studies are vain and full of errors unless they are based on experience and can be tested by experiment, in other words, they can be demonstrated to our senses. For if we are doubtful of what our senses perceive then how much more doubtful should we be of things that our senses cannot perceive, like the nature of God and the soul and other such things over which there are endless disputes and controversies. Wherever there is no true science and no certainty of knowledge, there will be conflicting speculations and quarrels. However, whenever things are proven by scientific demonstration and known for certain, then all quarreling will cease. And if controversy should ever arise again, then our first conclusions must have been questionable.

barack obama!!! He may not be our country's president, but yes, i am very moved by his speech. I can't help it, i shed a couple of tears.. this reminds me of martin luther king and the likes.., oh how these people influence me on how i see the world now. ufortunately, their life was cut short because of their dreams.but still, if they are alive, they would wish they were dead so that things would turn out right. now that's what you call patriotic! that would be a big slap for our trapo's(traditional politicians)

i have been hearing SONA's and acceptance speech for as long as i lived, and never have any Filipino president moved me by millicentimeter for the things they said to their countrymen! shame on you!

but i'm still faithful and hopeful that things would turn out well, for the country that i love soo much, for the Filipino people who are worth dying for!

Obama's Victory Speech- Very Inspiring

CHICAGO - Herewith is the excerpt of president-elect Barack
Obama's victory speech Tuesday before a crowd of some 125,000 cheering
and teraful supporters:
"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a
place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of
our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our
democracy, tonight is your answer.
"It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and
churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited
three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their
lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that
their voice could be that difference.
"It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat
and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay,
straight, disabled and not disabled Americans who sent a message to the
world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue
States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.
"It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so
many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to
put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the
hope of a better day.
"It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did
on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come
to America.

"I just received a very gracious call from Senator McCain. He fought
long and hard in this campaign, and he's fought even longer and harder
for the country he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that
most of us cannot begin to imagine, and we are better off for the
service rendered by this brave and selfless leader. I congratulate him
and Governor Palin for all they have achieved, and I look forward to
working with them to renew this nation’s promise in the months ahead.

"But above all, I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to it belongs to you.
"I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didn't
start with much money or many endorsements. Our campaign was not
hatched in the halls of Washington it began in the backyards of Des
Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the front porches of
Charleston.

"It was built by working men and women who dug into what little
savings they had to give five dollars and ten dollars and twenty
dollars to this cause. It grew strength from the young people who
rejected the myth of their generation's apathy; who left their homes
and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep;
from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold and scorching
heat to knock on the doors of perfect strangers; from the millions of
Americans who volunteered, and organized, and proved that more than two
centuries later, a government of the people, by the people and for the
people has not perished from this Earth. This is your victory.

"I know you didn't do this just to win an election and I know you
didn't do it for me. You did it because you understand the enormity of
the task that lies ahead. For even as we celebrate tonight, we know the
challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime,
two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century.

"Even as we stand here tonight, we know there are brave Americans
waking up in the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan to
risk their lives for us. There are mothers and fathers who will lie
awake after their children fall asleep and wonder how they'll make the
mortgage, or pay their doctor's bills, or save enough for college.
There is new energy to harness and new jobs to be created; new schools
to build and threats to meet and alliances to repair.
"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not
get there in one year or even one term, but America I have never been
more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you we
as a people will get there. "There will be setbacks and false starts.
There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as
president, and we know that government can't solve every problem. But I
will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will
listen to you, especially when we disagree. And above all, I will ask
you join in the work of remaking this nation the only way it's been
done in America for 221 years block by block, brick by brick, calloused
hand by calloused hand.

"What began twenty-one months ago in the depths of winter must not
end on this autumn night. This victory alone is not the change we seek
it is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot
happen if we go back to the way things were. It cannot happen without
you.
"So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and
responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder
and look after not only ourselves, but each other. Let us remember that
if this financial crisis taught us anything, it’s that we cannot have a
thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers in this country, we rise
or fall as one nation; as one people.

"Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship
and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so
long. Let us remember that it was a man from this state who first
carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House a party
founded on the values of self-reliance, individual liberty, and
national unity. Those are values we all share, and while the Democratic
Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of
humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our
progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, 'We
are not enemies, but friends though passion may have strained it must
not break our bonds of affection.' And to those Americans whose support
I have yet to earn I may not have won your vote, but I hear your
voices, I need your help, and I will be your president too.

"And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from
parliaments and palaces to those who are huddled around radios in the
forgotten corners of our world our stories are singular, but our
destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand. To
those who would tear this world down we will defeat you. To those who
seek peace and security we support you. And to all those who have
wondered if America’s beacon still burns as bright tonight we proved
once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from our the
might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring
power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity, and unyielding
hope.

"For that is the true genius of America that America can change. Our
union can be perfected. And what we have already achieved gives us hope
for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.

"This election had many firsts and many stories that will be told
for generations. But one that's on my mind tonight is about a woman who
cast her ballot in Atlanta. She's a lot like the millions of others who
stood in line to make their voice heard in this election except for one
thing -- Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old.
"She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were
no cars on the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her
couldn't vote for two reasons because she was a woman and because of
the color of her skin.
"And tonight, I think about all that she's seen throughout her
century in America the heartache and the hope; the struggle and the
progress; the times we were told that we can't, and the people who
pressed on with that American creed: Yes we can.

"At a time when women's voices were silenced and their hopes
dismissed, she lived to see them stand up and speak out and reach for
the ballot. Yes we can.
"When there was despair in the dust bowl and depression across the
land, she saw a nation conquer fear itself with a New Deal, new jobs
and a new sense of common purpose. Yes we can.

"When the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the world,
she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy
was saved. Yes we can.

"She was there for the buses in Montgomery, the hoses in Birmingham,
a bridge in Selma, and a preacher from Atlanta who told a people that
'We Shall Overcome.' Yes we can.

"A man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in Berlin, a world
was connected by our own science and imagination. And this year, in
this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and cast her vote,
because after 106 years in America, through the best of times and the
darkest of hours, she knows how America can change. Yes we can.

"America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so
much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves if our children
should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky
to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What
progress will we have made?
"This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is
our time to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity
for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to
reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth that out
of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are
met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we
will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a
people:

"Yes we can. Thank you, God bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America."

I consider Jason Mraz as one of those very talented song writers, and i would gladly kill anyone who would oppose me in this. Hehehehe. Joke!

But honestly, i have great respect and adoration in his music. his songs are euphoric, i could almost feel the exact feeling of having sniffed ganja or any stimulant drug. god forbid, i have not!

you might suppose that i'm writing this blog because i'm just one of those who were swept off by his 'i'm yours' song.. nope nope nope... actually, jason mraz has been around for more than a decade, i think! when i was in my college years, his songs like remedy, curbside prophet, i melt with you, you and i, and of course Wordplay has been my solace for my very boring study episodes. yup yup, i was quite a nerd then and i couldn't live without hearing yiruma, enya, mozart or beethoven in the background everytime i study.

hhmmm... i don't know how to end this, so i just leave you the lyric of my most fave jason mraz song, wordplay. here it goes!
I've been all around the world
I've been a new sensation
But it doesn't really matter
In this ge-generation
The sophomore slump is an uphill battle
And someone said that ain't my scene
'Cause they need a new song
Like a new religion
Music for the television
I can't do the long division
Someone do the math
For the record label puts me on the shelf up in the freezer
Gotta find another way to live the life of leisure
So I drop my top,
Mix and a mingle
Is everybody ready for the single and it goes...

Ha La La La La
L-listen closer to the verse I lay
Ha La La La La
It's all about the wordplay
Ha La La La love
The wonderful thing it does
Because, because
I am the wizard of ooh's and ah's and fa-la-la's
Yeah The Mr. A to Z
They say I'm all about the wordplay

When it's time to get ill I got your remedy
For those who don't remember me
Well let me introduce you to my style
I try to keep a jumble in the lyrics
never mumble
When the music's makin' people tongue-tied
You want a new song
Like a new religion
Music for the television
I can't do the long division
Someone do the math
For the people write me off like I'm a one-hit wonder
Gotta find another way to keep from goin' under
Pull out the stops,
Got your attention
I guess it's time again for me to mention
The wordplay

Ha La La La La
L-listen closer to the words I lay
Ha La La La La
It's all about the wordplay
Ha La La La love
The wonderful thing it does
Because, because
I am the wizard of ooh's and ah's and fa-la-la's
Yeah The Mr. A to Z
They say I'm all about the wordplay

I built a bridge across the stream of consciousness
That always seems to be a flowin'
But I don't know which way my brain is goin'
Oh the rhymin' and the timin'
Keeps the melodies inside of me
And they're climbin'
'Till I'm running out of air
Are you prepared to take a dive into the deep end of my head
Are you listening to a single word I've said?

Ha La La La La
Listen closer to the words I say
Ha La La La La
I'm Stickin' to the wordplay
Ha La La La Love
The wonderful thing it does
Because, because
I am the wizard of ooh's and ah's and fa-la-la's
Yeah the Mr. A to Z
They say I'm all about the wordplay

Ha La La La La
I'm all about the wordplay
Ha La La La La
I'm stickin' with the wordplay
Ha La La La Love
I love the wonderful thing it does
Because, because
The ooh's and ah's and fa-la-la's are back in love
For the Mr. A to Z they say
is all about the wordplay

A lot of people are totally disgusted by my intense obsession with Sigmund Freud and psychoanalysis. When I start to justify their behavior in the psychoanalyst perspective, I’ve often get that unwanted eyebrow-raised, teeth grinding expression from my 'friends'. I wonder why they are such ingrates; I’m doing it free of charge! They should be grateful, if I have made a living out of it, hmmm, perhaps I already have enough funds to buy that much coveted lotto outlet that I have so wanted for myself. . But anyway, I just knew them too well; their stabbing gestures don’t affect me that much. But aside from dream interpretation and defense mechanisms, I am very particular on slips of the tongue. In a most recent gathering with my relatives, I discovered that my cousin remained an infidel towards his gf when he kept mentioning his ex’s name while referring to his recent gf. Of course, his gf who stayed graceful the whole time could not help herself from blushing shamefully red. I became so interested with that incident that I used my underground methods to unravel the skeletons in his closet. Of course, my cousin didn’t know that his ex and I stayed friends after their well-rehearsed break-up scene, once-upon-a-time in Danao. The ex-gf who is shamelessly vocal about their
sexcapades told me their ala-korea-novela-my-husband's-woman, from-ceiling-down-to-the-floor story and it fortified my belief on my Freudian-slip fixations. Oh cousin, you are such a swine! I was really nauseated having to hear all those, I was patiently waiting for Zeus to strike me with his lightning " Spare me oh Gods of Olympus"

But I don’t generalize slip of the tongues as good predictor of a person’s personality, but I could very well tap into their subconscious and the secrets they are presently hiding, with being vigilant on a person’s slip-of-the-tongue. And yes, it does make sense and pretty rib-tickling too when you realize that that person is perpetrating a jackass move in the making.

Me and Palm Reading

these past few days , the theories i got from my newly found hobby- palm reading has almost convinced me that I should have my own fortune teller booth complete with crystal ball and tarot cards. ever since, i did not know that the three distinct line in our palms signify anything nor could it foretell the mechanics of our heart, mind and heart. moreover, there are other lines too that signify fate, career, marriage, fortune, wealth....

my interest with them came about just a couple of days ago when my very observant husband told me that he's got new lines in his left palm, when i check his and compared it with mine, i just noticed that i too have the line similar with his. and for a number years that i have held my palms before my eyes, i haven't noticed that line, only now.

so, i searched it on the internet, palmistry. just then it revealed to me, the line that me and my husband both have signifies the FATE line, it's like as if we're soulmates for having that very similar line. of course, twas interesting, and so i read on and on about it, they teach you how to read your palm and then I got promoted to reading other palms as well. Yeah, people, mostly my co-employees, find it odd but I’m the queen of everything weird, so, they just got over it.

What’s frustrating is when your palm, your index finger and your thumb are not telling you the things that you wish you might have, especially the pleasant qualities and fortune that you want to have. My heart line is telling me that my heart gets easily broken and my mind line states that I am really not that smart and that my life line is telling me that I’d be dead before I reach 50... hhhmmm... And suddenly I have this epiphany, darn it’s just like reading the horoscope from the palm of my hands... darn, double darn , triple darn. I detest horoscopes, and never have I depended my life to them. I rolled my eyes and laughed at myself. But yeah, everything was fun, from learning it to experimenting it on people. But even if I renounce palmistry now, I know that at the back of my mind, some of it, especially the ones that I have read on other people’s hand, there’s some truth to it.
