Success!!!

i am a shallow person and success for me is something rather childish if you are treating me from an outsider/stranger's perspective. i don't count the medals or the trophies as success. success for me is when you remember something that's been haunting your dreams for about a week now. just like this song. i heard it once in a bus on my way to work and i found it cute however, the moment i stepped off the bus, i totally forgot the song. but the song was daaaaarn cute! i want to download it but i forgot the lyrics nor the tune! so i did some extensive and excruciating (it really is excruciating when you keep your eyes closed tightly to assume that you will remember the song when you do it). i had to literally pull my hair and shake my head to get it off me. and thank goodness i managed to remember it just now! i will post the lyrics here so that i will no longer forget it. it's soooo cute!

*Back For Good *

I guess now it's time for me to give up
I feel it's time
Got a picture of you beside me
Got you're lipstick mark still on your coffee cup
Got a fist of pure emotion
Got a head of shattered dreams
Gotta leave it, gotta leave it all behind now

Whatever I said, whatever I did I didn't mean it
I just want you back for good
Whenever I'm wrong just tell me the song and I'll sing it
You'll be right and understood

Unaware but underlined I figured out this story
It wasn't good
But in the corner of my mind I celebrated glory
But that was not to be
In the twist of separation you excelled at being free
Can't you find a little room inside for me

Whatever I said, whatever I did I didn't mean it
I just want you back for good
Whenever I'm wrong just tell me the song and I'll sing it
You'll be right and understood

And we'll be together, this time is forever
We'll be fighting and forever we will be
So complete in our love
We will never be uncovered again

Whatever I said, whatever I did I didn't mean it
I just want you back for good
Whenever I'm wrong just tell me the song and I'll sing it
You'll be right and understood

*"Nothing Is What It Seems (Without You)"
SAOSIN*

You look like you’re letting go
I know that you won’t call on me
You look like you’re letting go
I know what my instincts are telling me
And you’re fading out
It’s so hard without you
This wasn’t my fault

Tell me how am I supposed to live without you
This is all that I remember before you changed
You’re stuck in the dream with next to nothing
I’m all alone and nothings what it seems
Without you next to me

Sometimes it feels like home
So safe in the shade
But when the summer fades
There’s always something missing
And now that I’m on my own
I know why you just
Just couldn’t stop
And why you had to leave
It’s so hard, without you
This wasn’t my fault

Tell me how am I supposed to live without you
This is all that I remember before you changed
You’re stuck in the dream with next to nothing
I’m all alone and nothings what it seems
Without you next to me

I never imagined I would feel so lost
I never imagined it would be so hard
I never imagined I would feel so lost

numbers on my name

one of the threads here in this forum suggested for this page. it is fun though i am still confused on why the total number of letters in my name would result to 111. no explanation was given. it must be math.

---Quote---
You entered: *Lyra May Cervantes Morcillos*

There are 25 letters in your name.
Those 25 letters total to 111
There are 8 vowels and 17 consonants in your name.

*What your first name means:* GreekFemaleLyre (medeival instrument). Lyrical.FrenchFemaleOf the Iyre. Song.
*Your number is:* 3
*The characteristics of #3 are: *Expression, verbalization, socialization, the arts, the joy of living.
*The expression or destiny for #3:*
An Expression of 3 produces a quest for destiny with words along a variety of lines that may include writing, speaking, singing, acting or teaching; our entertainers, writers, litigators, teachers, salesmen, and composers. You also have the destiny to sell yourself or sell just about any product that comes along. You are imaginative in your presentation, and you may have creative talents in the arts, although these are more likely to be latent. You are an optimistic person that seems ever enthusiastic about life and living. You are friendly, loving and social, and people like you because you are charming and such a good conversationalist. Your ability to communicate may often inspire others. It is your role in life to inspire and motivate; to raise the spirits of those around you.
The negative side of number 3 Expression is superficiality. You may tend to scatter your forces and simply be too easygoing. It is advisable for the negative 3 to avoid dwelling on trivial matters, especially gossip.
*Your Soul Urge number is:* 7
*A Soul Urge number of 7 means: *
With a number 7 Soul Urge you are very fond of reading, and retreating to periods of being alone and away from the disruptions of the outer world. You like to dream and develop you idealistic understandings, to study and analyze, to gain knowledge and wisdom. You may be too laid back and withdrawn to really succeed in the business world, and you will be much more comfortable in circumstances that are tolerant of your reserve, your analytical approach, and your desire to use your mind rather than your physical being.
You are very timid around people that you don't know very well, so much so at times that casual conversation and social situations can be strained. You tend to repress your emotions to the extend that some people have a good bit of difficult understanding you. You tend to be very selective with friends and you don't easily adapt to new environments or to new people very quickly.
The negative traits of the 7 include becoming too much the introvert and isolated from others.
*Your Inner Dream number is:* 5 *An Inner Dream number of 5 means: *
You dream of being totally free and unrestrained by responsibility. You see yourself conversing and mingling with the natives in many nations, living for adventure and life experiences. You imagine what you might accomplished.
---End Quote---

saturday--October 15,2011, I was out from my 3am to 12noon shift and i was standing at the curbside in Kalayaan to wait for an FX (it's an FX used as a PUV) for me to go home and finally relax for the weekend. It didn't take long for me to hail a PUV and to hop in. I sat at the back. We were driving along Edsa OverPass when a stranger infront of me slowly showed his gun out. It took awhile for me to register what's happening since i was plugged into LM.C. That was the first time I ever felt fear for my life since the stranger was already pointing his gun at us screaming his lungs out for our phones. I was still deliberating on what to do, however, all the defenses i've learned could not be used on a tight space at the back of an FX. Plus the fear, would really make your thoughts a bit disoriented. It was 12noon. Deymit! Who would have thought someone would do something bad at the time when the sun is on it's highest point?!! The first reaction i gave when he pointed his gun was "Totoo ba yan?!" because the gun was too shiny i thought it was fake. And so I caught the robber's attention and he said, "Ba't d ko kea ihampas toh xeo at nang makita mong totoo toh?!" of course all the expletives deleted. His focus went back to the other passenger. His original target. Because that passenger had an iphone. I had time to steal the moment to quickly hide my omnia which was on display that time. We were nearing Ayala where a MAPSA (traffic enforcer) was making his rounds at the side of the road so the perpetrator already rushed us to give us all the phones we had. He must have been an amateur. Without a blink, I gave him my Cherry Mobile d12. It was a phone i bought for 900php. Pawnshops don't even accept it. I couldn't even find a buyer for it since i was thinking of selling it. He went out after purging out our phones. But he never got the phone that was precious to me. hahahah! when i got home, i called my globe number and voila it was still ringing. I texted my number and hoped the robber read it. I texted a curse. hahahah! lol!

Yesterday, I received a teeny weeny bit of cash from someone which I had used to buy a few items for basic necessities. I had been swinging my arms back and forth while walking inside the mall to express my utmost happiness with the cash and I was thinking of buying a rice cooker (i know it is stupid that of all the things i have to buy, the rice cooker popped into my head. it's just that on my previous apartment, my housemates owned a rice cooker in which it can cook pasta, canned meals, and noodles. it was more than just a rice cooker. so i thought of keeping one for myself.) i was about to go upstairs for the appliances section when my nose caught on a scent--- the smell of old books. and i was tempted. i have this strange lust for old books. i love how they smell. and the thought of its previous owners. and so the thought of getting a rice cooker drifted off of my head. i followed my incessant hunger.

i stumbled upon a booksale. and my eyes went O_O... books! so i turned the whole place upside down looking for some interesting books that i can read. i found another gunslinger series from Stephen King (almost all of my gunslinger books are from booksales). i found one from tom clancey's. the lord of the rings set. i had a shopping spree inside that shop. but before i was able to reach the counter to pay for the books that piled up in my arms, i found the Fairy Tail Manga. some of you may not know, but i am addicted to mangas. right now it's Fairy Tail. I've been longing to hold a copy of a manga from this anime since i loved watching it knowing that its creator is the same one who made Rave (which brings a lot of nostalgia to me back on my AXN days). I quickly grabbed a copy before anyone else would grab it since it's the only copy left. I also bought two volumes following the first volume of Et Cetera which i enjoyed reading too. gaaah~! i will come back next week. prolly, there'd be more volumes! i love my discovery!!!! :D

Yesterday marked the 2nd birthday of Ondoy. I could still remember that faithful day like it came fresh and hot off the oven on how I had a nice date with my then-boyfriend inside a mall and we had no idea that a storm is brewing outside the building because we thought it was only one of the occassional doownpours of the ber-months. We were having a nice lunch and decided to go home when LO AND BEHOLD, the flood's rising waist length and the currents are very strong it could make a car drift and hit a post. My jaws dropped to the ground that time. It was just a drizzle when we went inside the mall. And then the flood after 2-3 hours of strolling inside. Paranoid as I am, i already had my final destination scenes pictured in my head. The flood was waistlength for my boyfriend so that counts my level as chest-length. There were no means of transportation and I was dire worried about my then-apartment since with the water level that high, it surely created havoc inside the house already. So we opted to go and not stay inside. We dared the flood and heavy rain and went against the current. The hell with leptospirosis and other debris-i-dare-not-know-what-or-i-will-faint. Since I am short and I'm made up of 40% muscle and 60% fat, I found it difficult to maneuver with the current and so i got carried away by the current and hit a post. So much for Ondoy.

Yesterday, another storm made me remember Ondoy. Strange, for a girl like me who doesn't have a television in her new home and doesn't have any idea if there's a storm except when the rains would last for days, I remembered Ondoy. It happened when I am on my way home. The rain was not that hard but the winds are very harsh it would make a tree kiss the ground and the roofs flying in a whirl of wind. But that was just a normal storm for me. Not enough for me to remember the name. But then, when the rain poured hard, accompanied by the cruel wind, which blows infront of you and you get wet all over even if you have an umbrella over your head, you tend to protect yourself by putting the umbrella infront of you instead putting it over your head so that the rain won't make you look like a wet cat (in this case, it's cat since i love cats) and that would make you see nothing infront of you. as in ZERO visibility. and then i hit the post. that made me remember Ondoy. Thank you Pedring. Happy Anniversary. It's a storm when i hit myself to a post.

So much for Ondoy.

the meaning of Lyra

i was chatting with my broken-hearted friend and i was on the midst of explaining to her the aggravations of being in a relationship and my perspective in being realistic on it and not optimistic when she suddenly forwarded me a link to interrupt me from my essay...it is a link for my name meaning. I wonder now how many Lyra's have to suffer the same ugly meaning as I do here. I find some of it funny. And some of it real and serious. I would just put the serious and true stuff in bold...

* Your name of *Lyra* gives you the ability to be creative along practical lines of endeavour.
* *Your ideas can be very original and inventive.* (i'm not trying to be conceited or anything. this is just what they say about me.)
* You enjoy being with people in a social environment.
* Your personal appearance is important to you, for you desire to make a good impression on others.
* *Your pleasant manner attracts people to you with their problems and you are capable of offering practical advice, though you would probably not follow such advice yourself.*
* *This name causes you to be somewhat too concerned with the personalities, problems, and activities of other people.*
* *You seem positive and decisive and can be outspoken in the expression of your opinions, but you lack the self-confidence needed to follow through with your ideas and plans.*
* *Procrastination is your downfall.* (this i like the best! hahhaa)
* You frequently choose the path of least resistance to avoid your responsibilities.
* *It is not easy for you to overcome obstacles or face issues.*
* This name does you an injustice in that it restricts your success in business and personal pursuits through a lack of ambition. (ok so if i am like this, i have to blame my name?)
* *There is a weakness in the fluid functions and in the region of the head resulting in sinus problems, headaches, eye, ear, or throat conditions and related ailments.*(and yes! i have allergic rhinitis, ENT is my bestfriend for my otitis...this is sooo final destination for me.)
* *Hair loss could also be a problem*.(because i change hairstyles twice every year)
* While the name *Lyra* creates the urge to be creative and original, we point out that it causes procrastination, lack of confidence, and the inability to realize your goals and ambitions. (i procrastinate because i still don't have any goals..although i manage to meet deadlines and finish everything impeccably.)
* This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the fluid systems, and tension or accidents to the head. (now this confirms how i'd picture my head when i die. it would be divided in half. and my brains will spill out.)

it is a funny thing. my name. if i change it, would it change everything here????

anyways, here is the link to get your name meaning if you happen to pass by my blog and want to get that final destination feel.

Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving
*
by Joe Butt
Profile: *INFP*
Revision: 3.0
Date of Revision: 26 Feb 2005
"I remember the first albatross I ever saw. ... At intervals, it arched forth its vast archangel wings, as if to embrace some holy ark. Wondrous flutterings and throbbings shook it. Though bodily unharmed, it uttered cries, as some king's ghost in super natural distress. Through its inexpressible, strange eyes, methought I peeped to secrets not below the heavens. As Abraham before the angels, I bowed myself..." --(Herman Melville, Moby Dick)
INFPs never seem to lose their sense of wonder. One might say they see life through rose-colored glasses. It's as though they live at the edge of a looking-glass world where mundane objects come to life, where flora and fauna take on near-human qualities.
INFP children often exhibit this in a 'Calvin and Hobbes' fashion, switching from reality to fantasy and back again. With few exceptions, it is the NF child who readily develops imaginary playmates (as with Anne of Green Gables's "bookcase girlfriend"--her own reflection) and whose stuffed animals come to life like the Velveteen Rabbit and the Skin Horse:
"...Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand..." (the Skin Horse)
INFPs have the ability to see good in almost anyone or anything. Even for the most unlovable the INFP is wont to have pity.
Rest you, my enemy,
Slain without fault,
Life smacks but tastelessly
Lacking your salt!
Stuck in a bog whence naught
May catapult me,
Come from the grave, long-sought,
Come and insult me!
--(Steven Vincent Benet, Elegy for an Enemy)
Their extreme depth of feeling is often hidden, even from themselves, until circumstances evoke an impassioned response:
"I say, Queequeg! Why don't you speak? It's I--Ishmael." But all remained still as before. ... Something must have happened. Apoplexy!
... And running up after me, she caught me as I was again trying to force open the door. ... "Have to burst it open," said I, and was running down the entry a little, for a good start, when the landlady caught me, again vowing I should not break down her premises; but I tore from her, and with a sudden bodily rush dashed myself full against the mark.--(Melville, Moby Dick)
Of course, not all of life is rosy, and INFPs are not exempt from the same disappointments and frustrations common to humanity. As INTPs tend to have a sense of failed competence, INFPs struggle with the issue of their own ethical perfection, e.g., perfo rmance of duty for the greater cause. An INFP friend describes the inner conflict as not good versus bad, but on a grand scale, Good vs. Evil. Luke Skywalker in Star Wars depicts this conflict in his struggle between the two sides of "The Force." Although the dark side must be reckoned with, the INFP believes that good ultimately triumphs.
Some INFPs have a gift for taking technical information and putting it into layman's terms. Brendan Kehoe's Zen and the Art of the Internet is one example of this "de-jargoning" talent in action.
Functional Analysis: (http://www.istorya.net/forums/fa.html)
Introverted FeelingINFPs live primarily in a rich inner world of introverted Feeling. Being inward-turning, the natural attraction is away from world and toward essence and ideal. This introversion of dominant Feeling, receiving its data from extraverted intuition, must be the source of the quixotic nature of these usually gentle beings. Feeling is caught in the approach- avoidance bind between concern both for people and for All Creatures Great and Small, and a psycho-magnetic repulsion from the same. The "object," be it homo sapiens or a mere representation of an organism, is valued only to the degree that the object contains some measure of the inner Essence or greater Good. Doing a good deed, for example, may provide intrinsic satisfaction which is only secondary to the greater good of striking a blow against Man's Inhumanity to Mankind.
Extraverted iNtuitionExtraverted intuition faces outward, greeting the world on behalf of Feeling. What the observer usually sees is creativity with implied good will. Intuition spawns this type's philosophical bent and strengthens pattern perception. It combines as auxiliary with introverted Feeling and gives rise to unusual skill in both character development and fluency with language--a sound basis for the development of literary facility. If INTPs aspire to word mechanics, INFPs would be verbal artists.
Introverted SensingSensing is introverted and often invisible. This stealth function in the third position gives INFPs a natural inclination toward absent- mindedness and other-worldliness, however, Feeling's strong people awareness provides a balancing, mitigating effect. This introverted Sensing is somewhat categorical, a subdued version of SJ sensing. In the third position, however, it is easily overridden by the stronger functions.
Extraverted ThinkingThe INFP may turn to inferior extraverted Thinking for help in focusing on externals and for closure. INFPs can even masquerade in their ESTJ business suit, but not without expending considerable energy. The inferior, problematic nature of Extraverted Thinking is its lack of context and proportion. Single impersonal facts may loom large or attain higher priority than more salient principles which are all but overlooked.

a week and there had been a lot of misfortunes for this poor girl who writes this blog.

1st. just as i thought i was done with my loan, i had to loan again because somebody didn't pay me the money that they owe me. and since i can't force them to pay me because they really have nothing to give, i had to loan again. deym loansharks! they really kill.:( and because i had a kind heart, i ended up forgiving and forgetting the money that i lent to that person. *le sigh!*

2nd. i just heard from one of my dearest friends that she had the worst month--August. her dear brother died of cancer and her boyfriend broke up with her. i was empathic with her brother's death. but my extreme empathy overflowed and caused rage and hatred when i found out that the boyfriend, whom i gave a mafia ring since he made my friend happy, broke up with her because he got sooooo warped out with the hotness he met in a bar. i could have just pat my friend's shoulder and tell her that it's okay since some guys are just assholes in nature and that a good girl really won't come at par with a flirt when it comes to getting the man they wanted. however, when she told me that she already gave up her virginity, which she had been treasuring for TWENTY SEVEN YEARS, for that prick whom she thought would be with her forever, i went mad! the prick replaced my pretty friend with some flirt he met in a bar who owns a very cheap and dirty underwear (as per what my friend said when she visited the prick's pad to return all his things). i really don't get a male's psyche! i wish God would wave a hand and make all the males in the world look upon us women in the same way as God looks upon us. in that way, nobody would get hurt. *le sigh part two!*

3rd. i was able to pay for the loan i mentioned on my first problem HOWEVER, that same day, my mom called saying that she got admitted to Davao Doctor's Hospital because of excessive sh!tting (sorry for the word. doctors can't give the prognosis or the diagnosis so i just came up with a street word). at first i was cool about it since she's my dependent on my health card but when i found out that she still needs to get a PhilHealth membership so that ALL her expenses will get covered, i collapsed (well,it's just in my head but really. my brain collapsed). My parents weren't my dependents for PhilHealth since they're not yet 60 and it has been 3 years since their last contribution, thus, they cannot use PhilHealth anymore. My salary was below what I've expected since I had a birthday leave last August and so with a bitter heart, I had to loan again. Hello loanshark. I'll be seeing you in Alphaland on the 16th. *le sigh part three*

4th. my room mate, who acts like my soulmate, is currently fixing a laptop (an HP Compaq Presario) as his sideline to help us catch up with the finances. the laptop is fixed and ready for testing but the owner seemed to be uninterested in claiming the brilliant object. thus, that sideline of his is a total failure. *le sigh part four*

5th. i promised TER that i'll be buying the cd he's burning and somebody else that i'll be buying the samurai umbrella he's selling but since the funds are scarce due to unexpected events, i have to leave them hanging until i get my ledger balanced and up to date. i wonder if they're mad at me or if they think i'm a scam. *le sigh part five*

but despite all of these mess i'm in and the sea of debt i am swimming in right now, i am glad to announce that i am not letting myself sink! this life is a sink or swim dilemma. so far, i am swimming. in real life, i have no idea how to swim at all. but with these things that are happening, i am 100% sure that i am in no kiddie pool but i am still breathing. in sulfur. but still breathing. my mother got out of the hospital and i'm still thankful that it's not even worse but she still needs to do a few follow ups with the doctor. my friend is still alive and learning to cope up finally chewing up the words i implanted on her head while she was unconscious and dead to the world. the loan is not that big so i guess i can pretty much pay for it the next payday. and my roommat-slash-soulmate is willing to share his salary for me *blush*. indeed things are ugly and crappy but i still manage. that's what i'm thankful about. i'm still able to smile. Thank You Lord.

i was the youngest in my team and since i don't have anyone to talk to in the office with the same age level as mine, i always end up talking with older people. and i learn a lot from them. they talk about finances. they talk about their kids. they talk about their husbands and partners.

yesterday, we went to Alphaland in Magallanes in Makati to meet a friend of a friend and we talked about stuffs while standing in an internet shop that is being renovated. this friend of a friend married her childhood sweetheart when she was at her early 20's and had kids. by the looks of her, i could say she's already gone through a lot. we were talking about marriage and kids and she said, with full of angst, that once you get married, you must learn how to keep your man. she said that by the time the marriage reaches 7years, it is in man's nature to lose interest with the wife and would want to look for a fresher newer face. that's why by that critical stage, men would NORMALLY cheat their wives and that wives should be threatened by this rising competition with a youngster and must learn new tricks of looking fresh too to keep the man on her reigns. that actually put me off. i grew up in a family where my dad never cheated and had been inlove with my mom. although i heard news about people cheating other people, what would pop out of my head is that it's because they did something bad along their marriage that it made them look for someone else. never have i imagined that some would cheat because their wives now are less attractive than before. if that's the case, then it is not love after all. you marry because your girl is beautiful. that's just plain bull and distasteful! and i could imagine being in that situation and realizing after seven or eight years of marriage, i'd realize that i was married to man who really doesn't love me. i mean, DO I REALLY NEED TO LOOK BEAUTIFUL EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE JUST TO KEEP MY MAN??? i consider it a burden for me since i really don't have a clue about beautifying myself and emphasizing on my pretty traits. heck! i don't even wear make up. well, i wear make up but somebody has to put it for me! it's really a burden! really a burden to be pretty! and what's worse is that, MEN don't need to "sexify" themselves because even if they develop beer bellies as they grow old, chicks would still dig in for them. deym! this friend of a friend also added that a woman must stay beautiful and presentable because even if we want to or not, Men see us as their trophees and that being with a beautiful girl is their bragging rights. isn't that just an a$$?! this just makes me sad. i wish i could grow old with someone with or without a kid just like that sweet old couple in the movie UP. but it is a bitter fact, that reality is not like the movies. i hate men.

this realization made me more convinced of my decision to just look for a sperm donor OR adopt a kid and be a single mom. I will not marry if it pressures me to keep up with my beauty, my youth, my figure. Only prostitutes do that to keep them earning bucks. I am not a prostitute. My man has to keep up with my boring looks and if not then I will not do it! I will not marry!!!! I won't!!!!

i was scanning some status messages on my sister's facebook wall when i read her status about a note she found inserted in between the books i own back in my room. the note stirred a lot of emotions inside me:

*i loved you: it may be that love has not completely died in my soul; but let it trouble you no longer; i do not wish to sadden you in any way. i loved you silently, hopelessly, tormented now by shyness and now by jealousy; i loved you so sincerely, so tenderly, as God grant you may be loved by another*

i somehow wish it was for me. but i'm sure it wasnt. although i wanted it but it's scary. i don't want to delve in that much on something that's been buried.
