Default "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery

    Hi all,

I just re-read the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.. i've learned to appreciate this book more and more..
it may appear to be a children's book but it is really heavy. it is for adults as well..

what can you say? you can put in your philosophies and associations with the characters of the book. thanks.

i'll just write down here some lines that really struck me most.

    i'll start with the intro:

    To Leon Werth

I ask the indulgence of the children who may read this book for dedicating it to a grown-up. I have a serious reason: he is the best friend I have in the world. I have another reason: this grown-up understands everything, even books about children. I have a third reason: he lives in France where he is hungry and cold. He needs cheering up. If all these reasons are not enough, I will dedicate this book to the child from whom this grown-up grew. All grown-ups were once children--- although few of them remember it. And so I correct my dedication:

    To LEON WERTH
When he was a little boy..

woah! great jud kaayo ni nga book! i urge everyone to read or re-read man lang and try to delve in the depths of this marvelous book.

yeah, great book. but at that time i was too unappreciative of it. it was introduced to me (us, my classmates and i back in the days) by a teacher. might just read it again and share it to my little sisters.

same here, darbs. i first read that book when i was still at college. it was a requirement sa among Philosophy class. ambot, i got bored with it. i learned to appreciate it now when i reread it.

as what the fox said, "it is only in the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye"...

i love this book! whooh! can't put it down..

"it's only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye"

and something about grown ups and figures.. sometimes we are all abou figures.. when we buy something, lose, fail, or gain..we are all about figures and stuff. cge of ihap. this book truly amazes me and gives me another eye popping truth. he was indeed a lil prince..and he cared for his flower who has 4 thorns.

i like the part when he told the man that it's better that he doesn't know which star is his planet so that every star could be the lil prince's planet...and just by looking it as a whole..he'll remember his laughter. and he'll laugh by just looking at the stars.

    i love it.. simple.

    nowadays.. simplicity.. simply hard!

really nice book! fo y'all haven't read this! please! grab a copy!

wait, i'll post some nice texts from the book..

The little prince is fond of sunsets. One day the little prince said, "I saw the sunset forty-four times!" And he added, "You know- one loves the sunset, when one is so sad..."

And I asked, "Were you so sad, then on the day of the forty-four sunsets?"

But the little prince made no reply.

The little prince asked the man to draw him a sheep but he was worried that the sheep will eat his flower..

"If someone loves a flower of which just one single blossom grows in all the millions and millions of stars, it is enough to make him happy just to look at the stars. He can say to himself: 'Somewhere, my flower is there...' But if the sheep eats the flower, in one moment all his stars will be darkened.. And you think that's not important !"
