With American Idol winner Kris Allen, Jabbawockeez and Boyce Avenue
Mark your calendars and set your alarms for the next big thing to happen to Cebu after Sinulog. On February 5, 2010, Friday, Metrocardclub.com in cooperation with Channel [V] Philippines, GMA 7, PLDT myDSL WATCHPAD, Penshoppe and e-Performax present MUSICFEST 2010 with Kris Allen, Jabbawockeez and Boyce Avenue. This Philippine Tour lands in Cebu for its first stop and kicks off at 8 p.m. at the SM City Cebu North Open Parking 2.
For the very first time, Cebu will bear witness to the sheer talent of American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen. Kris stood out for his memorable performances and original arrangements of well-known songs such as Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” and Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror”. Since the finale, Kris has gone on to having multiple songs on the Billboard Charts with his Idol Coronation Song “No Boundaries” and his version of Kanye West’s “Heartless” reaching the Top 20, with the former hitting No. 1 on the iTunes chart.
Joining him on stage is Jabbawockeez, a hip hop dance group from California who gained fame by appearing on America’s Got Talent and later being the first winners of Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew. Three of their members are Filipinos and this will be their first time to perform to the Cebu audience.
Rounding up the big name talents of MUSICFEST 2010 is Boyce Avenue, a Florida-based band composed brothers Alejandro, Fabian and Daniel Manzano and popular for its strong acoustic roots and melodious rock sounds. Some of their popular tracks include versions of hit songs such as Umbrella, Apologize, Hate That I Love You and With You.
