I watched Ingmar Bergman's WILD STRAWBERRIES (1957) for the second time last night.
It's a cathartic surreal experience of a trip down memory lane by an old grumpy man. It deepens with every watch and I'd love to watch it again and again especially when I grow old. Gives new perspective to life's meaning and death. When you want an unorthodox and unsentimental way of presenting the concept of death, try watching a Bergman film. Death has always intrigued me and Bergman has always been the quincher for that thirst. |
