Last night
Cold Mountain
Nicole Kidman/Jude Law/Renee Zellweger
Plot:from imdb
In the waning days of the American Civil War, a wounded soldier (Law) embarks on a perilous journey back home to Cold Mountain, North Carolina to reunite with his sweetheart (Kidman). Based on the novel by Charles Frazier.

Nice tragedy. Renee deserved the best supporting actress award from this film.

Title: 55 Days in Peking
starring: Charlton Heston, David Niven

This movie's a classic, a true story, set in Peking in 1900 during the "boxer rebellion", it tells the story of the 12? a dozen or so foriegn legations (A legation is a diplomatic mission in a foreign country ranking below an embassy) along with their foriegn service soldiers held on for 55 days awaiting the arrival of an international relief force sent in to rescue them. This film has none-stop action, a touch on turn of the century drama, magnificent cinematography and a view on the humanitarian concerns of war. Its got all the effects of a good story... including the last part when in desperation and having partly lost hope of rescue they hold out against impossible odds when suddenly the relief force comes into view... a happy ending.

Great for kids to watch, it shows that it is possible for the international community can agree with each other, and settle their differences. I first saw the film when I think I was... 12? Its a classic now, and was recently shown on cenimax on cable.

It's a great urban adventure film.
