StarStruck alumnus Tyron Perez marries non-showbiz girlfriend

Hindi nawala sa burol ni Douglas Quijano ang isa sa pinakahuling inalagaan niya na si Tyron Perez. Dito nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang isa sa original StarStruck Avengers.

Kinumpirma ni Tyrone sa PEP na kinasal na siya sa kanyang non-showbiz na girlfriend. Ikinasal si Tyron kay Liv Espino, isang flight attendant, noong May 27. Naganap ang kanilang simpleng civil wedding sa isang restaurant sa Las Piñas City.

Nakaplano naman daw next year ang church wedding nina Tyron at Liv. Puro mga kamag-anak at malalapit na kaibigan ang naging saksi sa simpleng civil wedding nila.

Ayon kay Tyron, wala raw siyang pinagsisisihan sa kanyang ginawang pagpapakasal dahil mahal na mahal niya ang kanyang girlfriend. Hindi pa naman daw niya tinatalikuran ang showbiz, pero wala raw talagang offer dahil matagal na raw siyang walang kontrata sa GMA Artist Center.

Gaya ng nabanggit, produkto ng artista-search reality show na StarStruck si Tyron. Kabilang siya sa original batch na kinabibilangan din nina Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi, Rainier Castillo, Nadine Samonte, Dion Ignacio, Katrina Halili, Cristine Reyes, at Sheena Halili.

Nagbida si Tyron sa pelikulang Twilight Dancers, kung saan nagkaroon siya ng butt exposure. Gumawa rin siya ng mga indie films na Metlogs at Room 213. Sa TV naman ay huli siyang napanood sa mga series na Bakekang, Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap, Lupin, at Joaquin Bordado.

Huling balita kay Tyron ay pumunta raw siya sa Macau para magtrabaho roon kasama ng ilang sexy actors dito na walang trabaho. Pero walang kinumpirma si Tyron tungkol sa balitang ito.

Na-link noon si Tyron sa ka-loveteam niya na si Nadine Samonte. Nagkatambal sila sa mga pelikulang Happily Ever After at Say That You Love Me sa ilalim ng Regal Entertainment. Naging girlfriend naman niya ang young actress na si Charee Pineda at two years ago pa sila naghiwalay.

Cristine Reyes out, Katrina Halili in as Fedra in Rosalinda?

Sino nga ba ang gaganap na Fedra sa Rosalinda?

Pormal nang ipinakilala sa publiko ang gaganap sa mga pangunahing tauhan sa Pinoy version ng phenomenal hit na Mexicanovela, ang Rosalinda. Ito ay ang baguhang si Carla Abellana bilang Rosalinda at ang balik-Kapuso na si Geoff Eigenmann bilang Fernando Jose.

Maging ang mga supporting cast ay nai-announce na rin dito sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal). Pero hanggang ngayon ay wala pa ring announcement kung sino ang gaganap sa papel na Fedra, ang pangunahing kontrabida sa Rosalinda. (Click here to read related article.)

Lately, malakas ang bulung-bulungan na si Cristine Reyes ang gaganap bilang Fedra. Pumayag daw ang StarStruck alumna na maging kontrabida muli sa kanyang napabalitang pagbabalik sa GMA-7, pagkatapos niyang lumipat sa ABS-CBN noong isang taon.

Sa recent interviews ni Cristine ay naging vocal siya sa pagsasabing gusto na niyang bumalik sa kanyang unang tahanan, kahit pa bumalik siya sa pagkokontrabida matapos siyang bigyan ng lead role ng ABS-CBN noon via Eva Fonda. Nasa puso pa rin daw kasi ni Cristine ang GMA-7 kahit pa naging kontrobersiyal ang pag-alis niya noon dito. (Click here to read related article.)

Handa na sana lahat ang pagbabalik ni Cristine sa Kapuso network. Nakatakda na sana siya, at ang kanyang manager na si Veronique del Rosario ng Viva Artists Agency (VAA), na pumirma ng kontrata para sa Rosalinda kahapon, June 15. Pero ayon sa isang source ng PEP, na malapit kay Cristine, hindi natuloy ang pagpirma ng young actress dahil may problema pa raw kasi ang kontrata niya sa ABS-CBN.

Balitang iniyakan daw nang husto ni Cristine ang pangyayaring ito.

Ang latest na balita, nakita ng isa pang source ng PEP ang controversial young actress na si Katrina Halili sa bakuran ng GMA Network Center kaninang hapon, June 16. Ayon sa aming source, umakyat daw si Katrina sa opisina ng SVP for Entertainment TV ng GMA-7 na si Ms. Wilma Galvante para makipag-meeting tungkol sa comeback project ng StarStruck alumna.

Malakas ang kutob ng aming source na ang project na in-offer kay Katrina ay ang role na Fedra sa Rosalinda. Pero hindi pa raw malinaw kung tinanggap ni Katrina ang offer o hindi.

Meron din kasing offer sa kanya na magbida sa TV version ng pelikulang Angela Markado, na pinagbidahan noon ni Hilda Koronel at idinirek ni Lino Brocka. Isa rin si Katrina sa balitang kinu-consider na gumanap bilang Valentina sa pagbabalik-telebisyon ng Darna, na gagampanan ni Marian Rivera.

Matagal-tagal na rin nang huling mapanood si Katrina sa TV. Ang huli niyang primetime show ay ang fantaserye na Gagambino, kasama si Dennis Trillo. Pagkatapos nito ay napanood siya sa ilang episodes ng drama anthology na Dear Friend.

Naapektuhan ang career ni Katrina nang pumutok ang isyu tungkol sa *** video nila ni Hayden Kho, na umabot pa nga sa Senado. Ilang linggo ring hindi nakapagtrabaho ang aktres dahil kailangan niyang harapin ang reklamong isinampa niya laban sa ilang tao na may kinalaman diumano sa pagkalat ng *** videos.

Kung naging maayos ang meeting ni Katrina with Ms. Galvante, mukhang handa na ulit magtrabaho ang controversial young actress.

As for Cristine, mukhang mauudlot ang pagbabalik niya sa GMA-7 at wala siyang magagawa kundi ang ituloy ang pagtatrabaho niya sa ABS-CBN—sa ayaw at gusto niya.

Glaiza de Castro Gets Daring with Dennis Trillo in ‘Astig


Glaiza de Castro sheds her wholesome image to play a more mature role with Dennis Trillo in the Cinemalaya film “Astig.

Their first work together was the GMA fantaserye “Gagambino” and their intended audience are kids.
Now, Glaiza de Castro goes more mature with Dennis Trillo in an independent film about four young men whose stories parallel and contrast with the landmarks and various images of Manila.
Glaiza will play the role of Dennis’ lover in Astig. “It’s a story about random people living in Manila. Sa akin, nag-focus siya sa isang teenager [na] nagkaroon ng STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease),” said Glaiza.
“Ninerbyos ako,” Glaiza added. “Although nagkikita kami, nagkaka-eksena kami [sa Gagambino] pero hindi kami nagka-eksena na kaming dalawa lang. Hindi ko ma-explain ‘yung feeling kung paano ako aarte kasama ng magaling na artista.”
Glaiza says Dennis is one of the actors she looks up to sa mundo ng showbiz, “parang ang tagal ko winish na sana magkatrabaho nga kami, tapos, heto pa ‘yung binigay sa akin. Sobrang wow talaga. As in!”
Astig is the first indie film of Dennis Trillo and Glaiza is proud to know that their movie was chosen as one of the 10 finalists in this year’s Cinemalaya Film Festival.
It’s undeniable that Cinemalaya produces actors out of regular celebrities. It’s just last year that Baron Geisler was recognized as an “actor” for the first time by his compelling performance as a gay journalist in the award-winning “Jay”, the runaway winner that time.
Could this be the year for Dennis and Glaiza to be recognized as serious “actors”?
Astig is opening this July at the 2009 Cinemalaya Film Festival.

Mega Manila TV Ratings: Daily Top 10 Shows from June 9-15, 2009


We’ve consolidated the daytime and primetime programs in the AGB Nielsen tally to come up with the Top 10 shows for the whole day, each day from June 9 to 15, 2009.
Zorro is the no. 1 program the whole weekdays last week except in June 10 when the kapamilya teleserye May Bukas Pa stole the top spot. Two more kapamilya programs placed in the Top 5 with Tayong Dalawa at no. 2 and Only You at no. 4.
On June 11, the tally went back to its usual trending as Zorro topped the ranking. However, two kapamilya programs were tied in second place and this time, it’s Only You and Tayong Dalawa.
On June 12, Totoy Bato returns to the 2nd spot followed by 24 Oras in the 3rd spot. Zorro is still no. 1 while Adik Sa ‘Yo managed to placed 4th overall.
The no. 1 program last Saturday was Kapuso Mo Jessica Sojo while the no. 1 on Sunday was Kap’s Amazing Stories. TV5’s Talentadong Pinoy is the 5th most watched program last Saturday while Midnight DJ placed 8th and tied with ABS-CBN’s XXX.
