400,000 buy Pacquiao-Marquez!

HBO PPV Executive Mark Taffet told Fightnews.com today that the March 15 clash between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas generated a record 400,000 buys representing $20.2 million in sales. The results were the most for any pay-per-view telecast at a weight below welterweight in boxing history.

if this happens, i think it would be an awesome oppurtunity.. and with regards to pacquiao retiring after fighting this two, i beg to disagree.. although fighting them head on now would end in a complete disaster, in due time manny can eventually beat them..

i think the Hatton fight is doable and may not be right to be considered as only a "dream"..... whilst the ODLH fight is being floated about mainly becoz of money.... it is a prelude to the much-ballyhoed Manny-PBF tussle.

the record set was for "lower weight" categories... categories from super feather down....

the ODLH-PBF tussle was way way up in weight class....

This might work but with what happened in his recent fight for sure Manny Pacquiao will find new ways to elude those counter punches. It's a very steep uphill climb for Edwin Valero.
