Besides, we should respect other people's beliefs. Food is part of their way of life because Islam is not just a religion, it is their way of life. They dont eat pork because that is what their Quran says. They eat other kinds of meat but it should be halal certified. There is a certain way they "katay" the animal so as make it as sacred as possible. And prohibition in eating pork is NOT ABSOLUTE. They can eat pork in exceptional circumstances. According to the Quran "He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of Allah. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then is he guiltless. For Allah is Oft-forgiving Most Merciful" |

He hath only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked besides that of God. - Surat-ul Baqara (2):173
Since the flesh of swine is strongly forbidden in Islam, Muslims regard the eating of pork as an extremely unholy act an abomination before God. For this reason, they consider it an outrageous contradiction for people, who claim to be followers of the holy prophet Jesus, to eat pork. |

After reading a book that shows the deeper things in Islam, I gain some new insight about this wonderful religion.
Muhammad became a prophet at the age of 40, He ignited the light of Islam during a time where almost all of the world's religion was crawling in darkness and corruption. Before his prophetic commission, he was a successful trader. His honesty was well known throughout the land that people began to entrust their business dealings to him. In fact he was made an adviser and a mediator among the traders. He married a prominent business woman, her name is khadija. Muhammad belongs to a noble family, the Quaraish. to be continued...
