you are mistakenly wrong to say that Humans do not have the skills and soul-level to master his life here. if you are saying "humans" then you must be referring to all humans. But this is not the case as their are people who have taken hold of esoteric wisdom from the ancients and utilized certain techniques to liberate themselves from suffering. If Gautama Siddharta did it, why can't we? If Christian Saints did it, why can't we? If the fat guy next door did it, why can't we? Ordinary humans do not have the knowledge, but they have the skills to apply certain knowledge and techniques to attain enlightenment if they are given the privelage of such wisdom to do so. |

I want to add my own answers to my question (hehe). I believe the purpose of our life is to love, and to be loved. To live, to bear fruit, to become the best persons God created us to be, to learn, and to constantly evolve and become better. I really love that verse from the Bible which said that we must love God with our whole heart, with our whole soul and with all our strength and with all our mind, and our neighbor as ourselves. Those are God's greatest commandments to us, right? I think that verse clearly spells out for us the purpose of our lives. We are endowed with those gifts -- we were given minds, hearts, souls, and bodies -- and God wants us to develop and use them to the fullest; in doing so we give glory to Him and we show our love for Him.
Grabe ka-complex ang nature sa human being no? I mean, it's so hard to describe, because it's so mysterious and it seems so boundless. Unlike other "things" or creatures in this world, man is so complex. Birds fulfill their nature by "singing" (or chirping), eating, mating, etc. Stones fulfill their nature by, well, being themselves. Trees fulfill their nature by growing and bearing fruits. Man, well, we seem to fulfill our nature by doing more complex things; more than just eating, sleeping, mating, we also seem to find great fulfillment by developing our potentials, by struggling and growing, creating, learning, contributing, loving, suffering, sacrificing, and much more. Yet it's quite weird no, na kita ra ang mga creatures in this world nga oftentimes wala naga-fulfill sa atong nature? I mean, birds automatically live out their "bird-hood" (heh) shortly after they are born, pero kita humans, most of us find it difficult to become truly alive, truly human; or we choose not to live out our nature, our potentials.

I also remember this quote somewhere. It went something like, "Your deepest desire is also God's will for you."
I believe our true purpose in life lies in our deepest being. What makes us truly happy, truly fulfilled? Or, what are those things that when we do them we feel truly alive, truly happy and joyful, and at peace, wherein we can say to ourselves, "This is it! This is what I was born to do! This is really who I am!"? I believe that whatever those things are that make us truly happy and that truly satisfies our deepest desires, those are the things that God wants for us. If we discern and acknowledge and affirm that there is a God who exists, then we can also acknowledge that he created us, that he created our hearts and its needs and capacities, and that he knows our deepest longings, and whatever those things are that can satisfy those longings, those are also the things he desires for us. I used to believe that our purpose in life is limited to a single task or a single vocation. I used to ask myself, What do I really want to do? Who do I really want to become? Will I be happy as a doctor? As a nurse, engineer, architect, or a teacher? I now believe that God's will for us is wider than that. I believe he will be happy with whatever will be our decision, as long as it will make us truly happy and fulfilled; he can be happy if we choose to become a doctor, for example, or an architect; those professions serve him in their own unique ways; the important thing is for us to be truly, genuinely happy.

![]() @jlodarl: My suggestion to you mam is to write a personal mission statement. Do you have one? Your personal mission statement summarizes your deepest values and principles, what's really important to you, who you really want to become, and what you really want to do and accomplish. I've learned a lot from "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" ni Stephen Covey. Like you, it's a challenge for me too, to write my own mission statement and to set goals and act on them; to be constantly motivated and passionate about my dreams and plans, etc. It's a day to day challenge, but I like it hehe... So I suggest you pick the book up, if you haven't already read it. Anyway, I really believe having our own mission statement is very important. We won't have any sense of direction and purpose if we don't have one. Organizations, for example private companies, have mission statements, without one they won't have any direction, they will fail in the venture. After writing our own mission statement we must plan and set goals based on it. It helps a lot also if our goals are specific and time-bound. We must clearly picture them out and set deadlines, and each and every day we must do something to achieve that particular goal. "We don't have to do a thousand things. We just have to do something," said Anthony Robbins. So we must do something, even just one thing, on a daily basis. If dali ra ta mapul-an sa ato goals, we must evaluate them and try to see if they are still aligned to our mission statement. Stephen Covey said something like if we are not able to do something about our goals consistently, if we are bored or if we lose our drive to act on our goals, that is probably because we haven't really taken our mission statement to heart. The only solution is to have discipline. That means we have to become "disciples" of our values and principles. We must have a burning "yes" to our dreams, goals, values and principles (our mission statement) for us to be able to say "no" smilingly to the things that are not important in our lives. Just my two cents.

The reality is this: There's Nothing you can do about it.
Don't waste your time trying to change people. You can only change yourself. Try to understand why gahi iyang ulo. Don't judge him or her yet. Chances are there's a reason why he or she is that way. |

The "humans you've mentioned may have higher levels of soul, but they have not reached the "Master" level of souls. If they have, then they should still be alive today.

Josephdc is right about being an effective person. It is important to set goals and follow through on that goals. Then assess your goal on how far have you accomplished these goals. Although it is not as simple as that all the time. Sometimes it is because of our childhood experiences. Sometimes it is because of our birth year. Sometimes it is because of our vices and other things. Sometimes it is because of lack of self discipline. Sometimes it is because you wanted to do so many things that you lose the energy to finish what you started. The key is focus. Focus on the priority goals. Try to prioritize which goal is more important to you. Check if these goals are realistic enough to accomplish. Start with the smaller goals and work your way to the bigger goals. Have the self-discipline to finish what you started. I could explain further if you answer these things. 1.Did you grow up without a father? 2.Are you and only child? 3.How old are you? 4.Are you rich? |

I can be wrong. I admit to that. What we may considered "right" at one time (and one place), could be wrong in another time (and another place). You are speaking though of people with higher soul level. When your soul level elevates to a higher level you can do more things with your life. You accumulate talents more than other people. You can do extraordinary things. One sure indicator to see if you already are in the higher level of souls: your name will be remembered in history for doing something extra-ordinarily good. |

You may be afraid of rejection. You feel people will not accept you if you fail. You probably grew up in a competitive family condition. Usually in big families. Where parents are so demanding. And they want you to succeed all the time. All you must do is consider failure as a prerequisite of success. Everybody has to fail before we succeed. As a child, we did not walk straight right away. We stumbled a lot times before we could really walk straight. Just be confident on your abilities. Don't listen to people who says that you can not do this and you can not do that. Listen to people who tells you of the things you can do. |

What we consider "malas" could be a good thing.
Sometimes we forget that when it comes to love, there is someone (or more than one) designed to be our lover or partner. These loves and lovers have lessons to teach us. We learn a lot from failed relationships. When you keep on failing on your relationships, it means that you have not learned those lessons yet. Analyze the failed relationships. Talk with friends on their views about your relationship. Ask yourself why and be open to all possible answers. You will realize that you may have some shortcomings you were not aware of. They call it your blindspots. I recommend that: Have smart friends around. Keep an honest friend/s. Ask for advice and Listen to their advice. |
