Default MOTHERBOARD & HARD DISK REPAIR/ DATA RECOVERY SERVICES

To drkhero:

about your mobo for repair, it takes at least half-day to fix it excluding burn-in test. socketed ba imong bios chip? can you post the model number of that mobo?

about your HD, tell me more unsay prob ana, like ma-detect ba sa BIOS, dili ba magkalakala inig andar, ma-partition ba or ma-format, unsay brand ug model number.

5 out of 10 HDs nga dili ma-detect sa BIOS maayo pa man nako. kanang 5 nga di na jud madala mao nang dili moandar ang motor. mailhan man na nimo kon niandar ba ang motor kay kon hikapon nimo ga-vibrate man.

kanang dili ma-detect sa BIOS and then moandar pa ang motor, pwede pa na nato birahan bro.

can you repair corrupted HD firmware? I mean, corrupted servo information/ corrupted translator/ corrupted Defects Table? Take note dili ni sila about bad sectors.
how about kanang HD nga dili ma-detect sa BIOS? what's your success rate with it?
can you recover data from HD nga dili ma-detect sa BIOS? di ra ba jud na kaya sa Ontrack ug kanang ubang recovery software around.

halu sir ruel!

sori kron pako nkareply, na bc man gamay bhin ug editing ug pics(using photoshop cs) nya ngchat pud mi ni spaceman kay iya man ko gitudloan saon pagamit ang flash mx 2004... for website.. u know nman nga interested man kaayo ta basta electronics & computers in either hardware or software... mkalingaw man gud...

about my mobo: dli man ko kabalo unsa model ini kay wla man nkabutang, unlike asus nga naa gyud like p4s533-mx or mga ingon ana.. the cpu is Compaq Presario 5003US, 5000 series
wla pud ko kabantay ug BIOS unlike sa uban nga socket or soldered, naa noon chip nga square nga naa nkasulat : INTEL N82802A88 (mao guro ni...)
A0360284
wla pud noon ko ngtry ug ilis ug memory, pero ako gi puli2x iya mem kay 2 man kabouk, bsag asa mo hung up gyud. even sa BIOS ko mosulod (dli abtan ug 3mins)

about my HDD: Seagate ST 340810A, 40g , wla pud nko gtry ug testing ug using seagate disk manager, kana btaw 2 diskette nga pwde nmo i format, restore mbr ug partion using 98/nt/xp imo OS.. pero dli gyud ma detect sa BIOS, nya wla pud sound nga daut nga saba , unlike sa ako uban dri sauna nga giilisan gyud nko kay saba gyud ayo, morag naghiwi ang motor ba.. hehehe. siya wla sba,but naa vibrate w/c means andar ang motor. i knw dako nig chance nga maayo, unsa man pwde nko matesting ini sir ruel? unsa man pwde nko mabuhat kron?

tnx sir ruel!

Default MOTHERBOARD & HARD DISK REPAIR/ DATA RECOVERY SERVICES

To drkhero:

About your Compaq mobo, looks to me more of a capacitor problem than a BIOS problem. The fact that you can boot the system and get into BIOS setup, I would not be inclined to touch the BIOS side of it.

Also, the soldered INTEL N82802A88 chip you saw was the BIOS chip. The fact that it is soldered makes it not possible to reflash without detaching from the board. And detaching/remounting it would be very laborious, tricky, and not worth doing.

If I were you, I would try attaching a slower processor (400 to 600 Mhz) to see if it runs stable at lower frequency. The reason for this is that a slower processor has a much lower current drain on the VRM Capacitors, and so the board would appear to run stable when some capacitors are already marginal in condition. If it does run stable, then that tells you that you have a capacitor problem FOR SURE.

Another way to tell that you have a capacitor problem (since you don't have an ESR Meter) is to see if your PC restarts when you press CTRL-ALT-DEL after your system hangs. If your PC doesn't restart, you have a capacitor problem. IPUSTA PA NAKO AKONG UGANGAN, hehe.

aw yaga2xon pod ta uy usahay! kasab-an man gani nako diri mga dead board ug hd nga gahi banhawon, hehe.

bitaw, ilisi nalang nang tanang caps surrounding the processor aron matul-id na. mas maka-save pa ka kon ing-ana kaysa moari paka.

about ur hd, that's more tricky to fix compared to mobo. I mean, 1 false move tigok! but here are some tips how to have it detected, but please do at your own risk, OK?
1. Lay it on its side (magtakilid ba), then try connecting to PC and see if it can be detected na,
2. Or wrap it with plastic, put inside your REF (freezer) for 2 hours, remove the plastic wrap, try connecting to PC immediately, etc.

If dili pa jud matedect, corrupted na jud ang firmware ana (that's why dili maka-initialize ang HD) or defective ang Logic Board. Try replacing with logic board from another good HD, but BE SURE PAREHA ANG MODEL # ug FIRMWARE REVISION #.

Kon dili jud madala, ipa-doktor na jud na nimo. Dawat ra ghapon ta ana bro.

btw, the tips i gave u are just for having it detected by BIOS. but u need specialized hardware and software to repair firmware errors or fix physical bad sectors after ma-detect ang HD.

also sent u pm.
