but just like what you said, if capacitor lisod ichck if wla ta equipment pang check sa capacitor while on oard, i have equipment man kay hilig man ko repair ug make ug electornic projects since college pa, i have the usual like: analog/digital tester,soldering, logic probe, hot air, sa memory kay naa ko nadownload nga pangtesting, asa man ta makapalit sa pangtesting pa? like sa plyback? sa capacitor on board, IC tester ug uban pa? ako purpose nga im always buying test equipment is that para naa ko magain knowledge esp sa ato field, ang last nko napalit is hot air, mga october man guro 2 last yr. & it really helps me a lot.

with regards to memory, ako nani gisulayan, kay naa man ko mga spare memory diri,

sa processor ug fan, ako napud gisulayan, using my p3 733, kad2ng akoa kay p3 900 man, naa ghapon hangups same time,

with regards to CMOS settings, wla pa nko testingi, ako lng itry 2ms puhon!

For serious motherboard work, you need a POST Diagnostic Card that plugs into PCI or ISA slot. You also need an ESR Meter to test capacitors on board, not the usual digital voltmeter.

Then you need accurate and deep low-level hardware diagnostics software for you to test the functionality of every mainboard component, plus a burn-in test software.

And to complete the rig, you need an EEPROM Programmer and spare BIOS chips so you can reprogram any dead BIOS chip. About 50% of dead mobos have problematic BIOS firmware or BIOS chip.

Then keep an open mind so you can learn new things and join international forums dedicated to motherboard hardware and repair, BIOS, etc.

Lastly, be prepared to invest substantial time and effort to apply what you have learned from others or discover new tricks in motherboard repair.

yes, nkabati nko ana POST Diagnostic card, kay nakasulod kos axis kausa, naa nakabutang sa ISA sa ila motherboard, maybe under repair to, bsta ako nahibaw.an ana, ma check daw kuno nmo ang motherboard ug unsa guba, morag hex value ba or unsa... nangita pud ko ana pero sa gawas ko nakabantay, i dont know if naa baligya diri?

with regards to ESR meter naa ko nkita sa internet kang Bob parker's, i want to build one, pero wla man man gpost ang schematic, bsag wla lng unta pcb etching, bsta naa lng schematic. naa ka nahibaw.an nga site or schematic ini?

about pud BIOS programming, wla pko kasulay ana, sa college ra using 6802 motorola nga processor, gamit ug EEPROM programmer pra sa ROM nga butangan ug .bin files, pero sa PC wla ko ksulay...

About POST Diagnostic Card, I bought mine thru credit card on the internet. But I've seen China-made versions at FASTWIN.

About ESR Meter schematic, I designed/built my own circuit kay mahal kaayo sa gawas ang ready-made unit. Wala pod ko kakita ug baligya ana diri.

About BIOS matters, visit www.wimbios.com. It's the number 1 international forum on BIOS reprogramming & repair. Plenty of BIOS gurus there who are willing to teach you and help. Yours truly is a senior member in that forum.

About hardware troubleshooting & repair, visit www.experts-exchange.com. You will learn a lot from there.

i've done clearing the CMOS, pero mo hungup lng ghapon, sa BIOS setting ra gani ko nisulod, just 2 check if wla gyud lain cause sa hangup, mao lng ghapon, all are physically good( i dont know sa ESR sa capacitor sa motherboard kay wla man ko intrument ana. )

If problem persists, you need a qualified serviceman na. But if you know how to flash the BIOS with a new image, that might solve the problem. But flashing is very risky unless you know how to recover your dead system kon ma failed upgrade. If not, that will render your system totally dead again.

naa ba additional hardware kinahanglan just to flash, or mgdownload lng ug .bin nga file nya, ako lng kay bsin ug mo hungup nlng dli ka flash, kay approximately 30-120 secs. ra gyud, dli gyud ingon nga modugay au ;(

you cannot flash the BIOS on that same board kay mo-hang up man. if your BIOS chip is socketed, you need to detach it and flash using an EEPROM programmer. If it is surface mounted or soldered to the PCB, you need to unsolder before you can reprogram.

ruel, I'd like to inquire if you are using low-ESR caps and not the cheap ones found @ local electronic supplies. I have a couple of boards with burst caps at the office.

Di man jud stable ang performance sa board kon High-ESR ang caps nga gitaod. Dili pod ka-pasar sa burn-in test.

naa pud isa ka hdd dri (40g) nga kinahanglan pud ibalik ang firmware, unsa pwde nko mhimo ini? do i need hardware for this or pwde ra ordinary pc nya connect lng ang hdd as slave or using diskete or cd ba kha?
