Just check my email reply to you. Also, try this first before submitting your HD for repair: Set the jumper to master and try connecting to IDE1. Do not connect any other drive. |

ruelnov: bro, i have a defective/unstable PIII mainboard then according to my friend nga most likely, ang defect naa daw sa BGA chipset or sa CPU socket. in case, sa CPU socket side jud, naa kahay chance marepair ni cya or mailisan since ingon man gud to akong amigo nga kinahanglan kuno nig "special equipment" pang remove/remount sa CPU socket. thnx n advance...
naa pod diay tuod kay baligya nga mga unclaimed repaired mainboards (PIII or P4) nimo? of course, with warranty ha... |

To lolong tan:
Firstly: I don't agree that the cause of your unstable P3 mobo is the cpu socket or any chipset. The reason is simple, your system will never boot up if these are indeed the cause/causes. It's either a GO or NO-GO. Secondly: System instability such as random restarting or system hang is mainly caused by faulty capacitors on the mainboard. It is a fact that electrolytic capacitors simply DRY UP (or lose the bulk of its capacitance) with time. And since the majority of mainboards are designed with low cost of production in mind, most capacitors installed don't really last that long and you are indeed fortunate if your mainboard is still alive after 3-5 years! In fact, I have repaired a number of motherboards that have been in use for only 1 year. Unfortunately, you just cannot tell by simply looking at the capacitors if they are bad or still good. Dunay burot nga OK pa ang ESR Reading, duna pod dili burot nga tass na kaayo and ESR Reading. The key actually is to be able to test the ESR of capacitors without ever detaching them from the board. Fortunately, I have that kind of tester and so we are doing it the scientific/professional way. Here's some hard facts about electrolytic capacitors: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/849190/posts However, other board components such as the chipset and all other microcontroller chips do last a very long time if handled with care (usually 10+ years). Lastly, yes I'm reselling reconditioned motherboards and hard disks with warranty. |

To elord:
150 is kuridas price if you prefer just to dispose right away your dead boards or dead hard disks. But if you allow me to do a quick test on each item in my shop, I would be willing to pay as much as 300 if I like the condition of the item. |
