the following links might be of interest to you regarding that prob:

http://www.amptron.com/html/bios.beepcodes.html

http://www.comptechdoc.org/hardware/beepcodes/1.htm

as you can see, there is no such thing as 3 long beeps for award bios. so let us know if those 3 beeps you hear have the same pitch or varying in pitch.

to roemont: try nato bro basin madala pa diay. daghan na man sad nuon ko na-repair laptop HD with that same problem. about the charge, check ur pm.

cooldude75ph: yes, i have a custom setup to test motherboard integrity, plus burn-in test.

i have a special low-level hardware diagnostics software that can test every component on the motherboard with very high accuracy. am using it to QC/certify mobos before i give personal warranty.

about the charge, i think PhP200 would be fair enough.

any chance you can fix hard drive on a laptop that you can not boot at all?

the laptop will not boot from a CD and the disk drive is broken.

yes, it's possible to fix that laptop HDD. i have repaired many laptop HDDs already.

Can it still be detected by BIOS?

Any loud, clicking, or grinding noises?

yes, i can replace any mobo caps.

same service charge as in page 1 of this post.

i have my own set of caps proven already to make the mobo last for long. but if dili pa guba imong caps, i see no point in replacing them now.

looks like the IDE jumper was not set correctly bro.

try without any jumper and connect as secondary master, with BIOS settings for secondary IDE set to AUTO...LBA.

u need also to connect the HD to the end of the IDE cable (i.e. master position).
