should i upgrade my system or wait for Vista?

guys just a question, soon MS will release Vista. Whats the best plan? wait for its release, then wait for a few months
till prices of a 64bit system drop. OR by a new 64 bit system now. I really need a new System by early next year and im kinda in a dilemma
if ...

i should buy an expensive 64bit system (64proc, pci-e card etc......) now ?

or settle for a not so expensive setup for now then "wait and see"?

(i am in tight financial situation *as always* BTW)

I'll go for the wait and see option. Jumping on the latest and greatest may be to your disadvantage. We still know little of Vista's performance and real advantages over Windows XP SP2.

in that case if it takes a year for Vista SP1, then probably it will be out for 2007... i think im really going for the "wait and see-affordable" system for now since most of all i dont have the mollah pa. Whats your suggestions guys, for cpu, mobo and etc...? thanks!

Microsoft will be releasing Vista in 7 versions. If I were you, I'll save my money and wait till SP1 Vista's fixes be available and 64-bit CPUs becomes cheaper as well as the OS. Besides 32-bit Processors today will be enough as of now. BTW, how much is your budget?
