note: am not a super expert on this ^_^

wala lagi ko kitag CCBoot discussions diri? or am just blind

let's start it here for discussions about this if pwede ^_^, if dili pwede, paki delete lang MODS

since dili man ta ka reserve ug post..., ako lang unya ni tarongon puhon to point out some things for it.

to start, been using this for more than 2years already I think.
my server configuration is just:
Proc: intel G630
RAM: 8Gb
LAN: generic faithful realtek chip
HDD:
- 1x sata disk for OS and main image
- 1x sata disk for the Games
- 2x sata disk for its so called writeback [configured as simple raid]

this is just serving 4x piso2x units at the moment so, am just using the free version of this.
as per observation, proc sleeps all the time ^_^, the only thing busy on the system/server is just the disk and the lan.

anyone care to share your experience on it?, or any alternatives you use?


PRO's:
- internet cafe unit maintenance is easier since you only maintain 1 OS/game image and just update 1 unit, after you update, reload other units, then its updated also.

CON's:
- if server fails, then major headache unless you have a backup

Spoiler: Server Minimum requirements 

- any giga LAN/NIC
- any Processor
- 8Gb of RAM
- 1x hdd for host OS,
- 1x hdd for virtual OS "image"
- 1x hdd for Gaymes
- 1x hdd for Writeback
- [hdd's above can be combined or just using 1 hdd, depending on your taste/configuration but may suffer delays or slow read/loading times]

Spoiler: Server Recommended requirements 

- giga LAN/NIC [Intel chip based]
- any Processor [even the lowest dual core will do as long as this is a dedicated server]
- mobo with sata 3
- 16Gb of RAM or even more
- 1x hdd for host OS
- 1x hdd for virtual OS "image" [both hdd above can be combined depending on your taste/configuration]
- 1x hdd for Gaymes
- 1x hdd for Writeback
- you can replace those hdd with sdd depending on your budget and requirements]
- use those enormous RAMS as 'cache' to speed up load/read times.

Spoiler: Client requirements and tips 

- a computer with giga LAN/NIC [Intel chip based recommended]

tips:
- recommending to have the same motherboard in order to have just 1 OS "Image"
- if you have a mixed intel based and amd based computers, best to have them on different OS "Image" but if you are able to combine them into 1 image, the better.
- recommending that the "Images" be defragmented for a lesser read/write seeks.
- tweak down unnecessary programs/registry/service on the client workstations/pc.

bro useless kaayu magdiskless ka with 4 units lng..maypa imo server imo nlng na giapil ug piso2x bro..naa pakay kita..dali rman patch ana 4 units oi..im currently using ccboot for 2 cafes..20 and 12 units..using ccboot 3.0 with magic..hehehe

well..., it might be useless, but maintenance is easy if using ccboot.
kana lagi if na-a ka all the time to do it, then good for you.

am using ver 3.0, kaso lang kay 4units ra gyud ako, so free version pani ako ^_^

and as far sa imo 'magic' pwede basin, I don't know if na-a naba sa 3 but sa 2 kay na-a gyud ^_^

ang free version kay limit to 5 units bro, so pwede paka ana, been using this for quite a bit long na, ang version 2 kay about 1year plus, then kani 3 kay wala pay year basin.

thought nga free version rani

sa ako nahibaw-an, ang home call kay not more than an hour gyud. but if you want to circumvent..., then na-a sa web!, search for it ^_^

btaw mao nice ni..plano sad nku try ang ccboot kay free version 5 pc...akma sa ako na 5 units rah......ako ask lng pd ba...naa ba kahay limit or until mahuman ang free ani...month ba or year?...

wala may gibutang nga mu-expire ila product if 5units ra imo gamitan. and then for how many months nako sige gamit ani..., wala man expire.

gigabit switch gyud bro, kay magbagu-od gyud if dili ^_^

homecall is every 4 hrs except sa trial version na for 5 users only..gigabit switch is not priority for 4 units basta iminimal size lng jud imo image OS pra kusog2x mo boot..all other softwares except main drivers must be installed sa gamedisk..delay sa booting kng dli gigabit with 4 units is not an issue FOR ME..macater mana sa 10/100 ang data sa 4 naa pay sobra if you compute it..read/write speed per client is naa ra sa below 10Mbps..
