Childrens book illustrator - for a fun science series

We are getting ready to start work on the creative development of a 25 book children's series. The books will be science based for kids and educational (32 pages each, with about 8-10 full illustrated spreads for each book). I'm looking for a great illustrator that has great style.

We don't want this to look like traditional educational materials. Think funky, edgy, cool like Nickelodeon:

The main character in the story will be a hamster who talks, and a classroom setting with kids and a teacher. So you would be reusing the characters through out the entire series of books. Each story will be a little adventure in science. The books will be used by teachers to help excite children about science education and instill a passion for science at a young age. We want to help kids understand that science is fun and exciting and not dull and scary like a lot of the text book science they are exposed to in the higher grade levels.

This world needs more scientists! The only way to help that happen is to instill a passion for science at a very young age with children. We are looking for an illustrator that believes in this as well and has a love and understanding of kids too. We are not a big company, there are just three of us working together on this project and funding everything ourselves. We are hoping to connect with an illustrator who wants to work on something that will make an impact in children's education and inspire them to see science in a fun and exciting way.
