Yes people it’s always about “the money, money, money. Chi-ching chi-ching. Ba-bling ba-bling!
Sometimes people have motives for being anti-government!
during the campaign period of the 2010 elections, it was clear that aquino's platform depended heavily on his image and popularity. during his presidency, it was the same. this government tried to keep critics at bay and unabashedly flaunted surveys which were conducted by palace-friendly organizations. he has started his term with the prosecution of alleged corrupt personalities, and everyone who dared to get in the way was tagged as anti-progress. but, i digress.
recently, international media organizations have highlighted the lack of concrete leadership in the disaster-struck areas. aquino zealots have since chastised these organizations and have tried to justify the failure of the national government by comparing US's Katrina with our Haiyan. "we are not a first-world country". does this mean that the government is to be given slack? should we not strive for something greater?
"stop hating, start helping". this argument does not stand on solid ground. this assumes that critics did not give any donations or physically contributed to the relief effort. then, when critics hinted that they have actually contributed, apologists then quote their religious texts about not letting the other hand know what the other was doing, blah, blah, blah.
"you are demanding too much from the government". one life lost is one life too many. of course people will be demanding more from the government. the "master plan" of this administration materialized six days after the accident. this was not fast enough, not even close. when there is a lack of action from this government, it is not only our right to demand, it is our duty to do so.
"anti-government propaganda". there is no propaganda in demanding action from the government. we are even giving them suggestions and wake-up calls on how to do their jobs. propaganda only exists when one side tries to tell only their side of the story. their is no story to tell, only demands to be given.
"who would you like to place in his stead, mr. so and so?". this is not about replacing him right now. this is about him, doing his job right. apologists automatically suggest that every time we complain, we have an agenda to place someone in his stead.
"even the the <insert country here> government said that the task is difficult". of course we acknowledge the difficulty of this task. this, however, does not give the government an excuse for its incompetence.
let us be clear: we want mr. aquino to succeed. we want it so bad that we have given our inputs and criticism to highlight what else needs to be done to improve the relief efforts. success does not only depend on feel-good news. sometimes, we need to point out problems so that they can be fixed. unfortunately, we are being labeled as "anti-government", "hateful", and "blamers". it is time for mr. aquino and his apologists to stop trying to save his image. it is time for him to step up to the challenge and prove to us that he is a president of a country, not of a student council.
Mga tol before the mo post ug ingon ani ba dapat check jud unsa ka true kay imbis makatabang mo makasamot mo nuon sa problema. Spreading false information and complaining are two different things. Who will benefit from this false information? Those shameless corrupts. Kibaw namo kinsa na sila.
In this Internet Age I could easily manipulate your minds with false info. Think twice thrice or 7 times fold my dear friends.

my thoughts, exactly. if the government does not receive criticism, how will it know that it is doing something wrong? i find it disheartening that apologists exert so much more effort to protect the image of the current admin than to demand that their government do its job, swiftly and substantively, to help the people.
criticisms serve their purpose: they keep the people running the government on their toes. without it, they will be complacent and they will continue to immerse themselves on delusions of grandeur.
kayo naman.huwaton lang nato..pinag-aaralan pa nila....
