One of my friends here in cebu nangayo og idea about startups , mao ni iyang pangutana :

Are there any famous Filipino tech startups ? Is there any local startup culture /community in the Philippines? If you were going to start one that involved the local community, what would it be?

Please kog share sa inyong tagsa tagsa ka idea beh... really appreciated jud every single idea or opinion ninyo.

We really have potential pero daghan pa ug kulang. Naghimo ug tech startup akong brother in law a few years ago. Originally, diri unta sa Pilipinas himuon but dili gyud ma feasible. Plano nila sa Europe ug North America ang clients but diri ang operations. Pero wala nadayun kay bati ang infrastructure and dili kaya ang work sa mga straight out of college here sa Pilipinas.

Maayo ang mga pinoy pero kulang gyud ang training. So ilang gi compute makagasto pa sila ug training sa pinoy graduates compared sa graduates sa European colleges na ready na sa work. Nahadluk pud sila na once mahuman train nila diri sa Pinas, muresign dayun para mag-abroad. Naa silay bad experience ani.

So, bahalag ganahan gyud sila sa Pilipinas mag open, they decided sa Europe nalang. Fast forward to now, hundreds of millions of Pesos na ilang revenues annually and sige nag ka feature ilang company sa Europe. Dagko na kaayo ilang clients.

Sayang, trabaho unta to para sa atong mga kaigsuonan pero not meant to be I guess.

Bro, ilang main service is business intelligence. Labot na consulting, development and integration, support, management etc. Ilang clients very big companies like Nokia.

@bbelongi, actually naay application ang uban.. deli lang nila gi public.. naay group messaging app, rocketjobs, jobgrand, zenpile, grouptreat etc. ug daghan pa.. dli man gud mga entrepreneurial ang mga coder bro maoy secreto lang na ug labok.. pero once they'll find you a valuable source of information and connection they'll open up their ideas to you or to anybody..
