It rained on Saturday night, quite unexpected in the middle of El Niņo. We availed of Plan B. Eleven people, me including, came and a get-to-know-you affair ensued. Gills brought his prized blades and everyone enjoyed the knife pornography. Ideas were exchanged and a group is born. We immediately scheduled a Day Hike & Nature Appreciation activity the following day and nine came and it was a beautiful morning capped with a sumptous bush lunch and rounds of Red Horse beer in Camp Red.

    Default Spoon Carving

Have you tried carving a wooden spoon?

By the way, we have a Seeds for Earth Day activity this Sunday and catch the invite in Facebook.

This Sunday, while resting from another activity, bring your sharpest knife and/or multi-tools and let's try to see if you could make a good one. I'll give you an idea how it's done. Go read my blog.

To all those who came --- THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! To EWIT Mountaineers: you are all great guys, thank you!

I have a great time with EWIT. The fruits were ready by the time they arrived. We all partake of chico and lanzones fruit and made sure that the precious seeds are collected. As part of this activity, I carved a wooden ladle with my tomahawk. The "big spoon" is a work of art, considering that I have no special tools to work on it.

Later, I practiced my knife-throwing skill in "mango avenue" and captured by Manwel Roble in video. Same with my tomahawk throw. Will upload the video soon as well as the pictures of my spoon-carving session.

It's great to be a bushcrafter!
