on the sideline... ABS-CBN.. to be specific.. Miss korina sanchez have been 'blabbering' every time she goes on-air to report on how a filipino might be the next cardinal (and to be honest.. I am totally sick watching her always blabbering that!... putting up stupid expectations/hype for the rest of our countrymen to believe that the next pope would perhaps be a filipino!.. MY GOD, why did she became and anchorwoman/newscaster in the first place??) I thought newscasters are biased and maintains objectivity everytime they state factual reports on the field....

I know some filipinos are disappointed why the next pope was from the south americas... and MISS SANCHEZ was one of that primarily reason why some of our countrymen got disappointed of it.. I totally blame her 'sa pagpalingin sa mga huna huna sa mga pilipino nga siguro ang next pope will be a filipino, because as she says.. most of the people *daw she met in the Vatican are questioning her about if she is filipino and about TAGLE... jeezus....

if I was Gabby lopez... I would have fired her now because she's just poisoning the minds of our some less educated countrymen.... with her self nonsensical and non factual reporting.....!!!! often based on her personal agendas or opinions lang.

you can't blame her. Cardinal Tagle's name came out even on foreign press' list of papabile. in fact I've seen last night on GMA NewsTV an interview of a certain Mr. Allen (i forgot his first name), a veteran journalist covering Vatican and he said a lot of good things about Cardinal Tagle. i think that interview was for the UK kalimot lang ko unsa nga network.

^I agree with this. Tagle's name always did come out even in the international news networks. It was even more visible than Bergoglio's. He did have a chance but age is a factor and he's only been Cardinal for a few months. I didn't really believe he could win because of those factors.

I was very surprised with the result. I really thought it would be Scola or Schönborn. Well, more of Scola. But this guy's name did come out in the 2005 conclave as one of the papabili but not in the more recent one. I am quite optimistic about Pope Francis but we'll see. I am bias towards the Jesuits. hehehe... Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam.

I thought it would either be Cardinal Scola or Cardinal Scherer.

AFAIK, Cardinal Tagle has only been a cardinal for less than a year. He is a longshot of a longshot from being the pope this time around. The only reason Tagle's name came up was because there was speculation that the Vatican would choose a younger (probably more progressive) Cardinal. Cardinal Tagle's tenure is too short for him to be really a big name in the conclave.

i agree on you but being one of the top notch anchorwoman of a leading and respected News agency there in the Philippines... she should have exercise extreme discretion and professionalism under duress in allaying or feeding hopes so much.. as this would only create disillusionment for some of our countrymen.... What ever pre meditated and unfounded opinions on her part... she should have just kept it inside..

anyway.. just making a stand on how she's still a very irresponsible broadcaster she truly is....
imho lang..
