    ?

Launching a rocket on another State's airspace is a right? That will violate the territorial integrity of Japan and the Philippines and threaten their national security. North Korea is shooting a rocket above Japan's airspace, it is just right for Japan to intercept it since it flies above their territory.

North Korea cannot be trusted, their military is powerful but their people suffer in starvation and brainwashed by the ruling party. It is communism gone wrong. And for a fact, NK is a totalitarian state that allows its people to starve to death while its ruling party is bathed in riches from corruption.

China's pressure on North Korea is a joke. It is China's indirect way of telling the Philippines to 'back-off' from South China Sea. It is also a matter of diplomatic leveraging on the part of China. They can use their ally NK to threaten US allies (Philippines, Japan, South Korea and Thailand) which resulted in these countries going back to the Allied fold. US' containment of China will cause another Cold War years from now.

^^ It will be dismissed as merely Japanese doing their responsibility in securing the country. The world won't make a fuss about the act, we're too mature for that. It won't be war. No country in the world is ever ready to go to full-scale war. Because in wars, no one wins, even the victors lose so much that victory will not compensate the losses they incurred during the war. The global economic situation is too fragile and frail to have states go to war. Even China will hesitate to go to war with PHL since it will have adverse effects on its economy - economic sanctions from the UN can destroy China's export-oriented economy.

Before you express your erroneous views, please check data. The current flightpath DOES NOT fly over Japan. It doesn't even overfly any major land mass, as this is a polar orbit, and thus ascent is nearly 180 deg azimuth.

Notice the red line? That is the projected path of the UNHA-2 (polar orbital ascent). It will NOT pose any great danger to populated areas because the critical moments of the launch are from NOKOR to somewhere near Bali. After that, the Satellite would have achieved orbit, and thus Australia wouldn't even be in the critical range. Layo ra kaayo ang Philippines from the projected path.

That is true IF EVERYTHING GOES WELL AS PLANNED. What if something wrong happens and dili na sya musunod sa iya projected path? Mao na pasabot sa Japanese government.. Just in case lang ba.. Matud pa nila palpak ra ba ang mga previous tests sa nokor.

The "cone of safety" is a narrow corridor--I've simulated the launch (using http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/ ) using a modified Taepodong rocket which I made two years ago, and tried various "accident" scenarios, and my conclusion is that the debris corridor is quite narrow, and won't directly affect major populated areas, Philippines or otherwise. I can post the results/data of my tests here, if time permits later. In the meantime, more "brain food" here:

Fridge-size debris may fall in Bicol

Fridge-size debris may fall in Bicol | Manila Standard Today

DEBRIS the size of refrigerators might fall on Camarines Norte and Catanduanes from a long-range ballistic missile that North Korea is expected to launch next week, triggering a ban on sea travel and flights over the affected area, a disaster official said Tuesday.

“We do not have the capability to shoot down missile,’’ said Benito Ramos, executive director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

The only thing we can do is get out of the line of flight to ensure there will be no casualties.”

Ramos said a no-fly zone will be implemented within the missile’s flight line while boats and other vessels will also be barred from sailing in the affected areas between April 12 and 16, when North Korea is expected to launch its rocket.

The no-fly zone, which might affect several commercial flights, would cover the waters 190 nautical miles of Sta. Ana town in Cagayan to 150 nautical miles of Polilio Island in Quezon, Ramos said.

“The debris will be the size of refrigerators. If the missile overshoots, we are expecting possible landfall in Camarines Norte and Catanduanes,” Ramos said.

Our advice is for residents to wait indoors and wait for the proper advisory if there is need for evacuation.”

Ramos said the latest intelligence reports suggested that the missile, which is expected to be launched between April 12 and 16, would not be carrying any radioactive material.

He said authorities in several areas in Northern Luzon and the Bicol region had been alerted on the possible danger posed by the rocket.

He said the Armed Forces, the Coast Guard and aviation officials had been instructed to help local government units prepare residents in the areas that might be affected.

Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin said President Benigno Aquino III would bring up the missile launch at the Asean summit in Cambodia.

“The President will do everything to convince the Asean neighbors to stop this long-range ballistic test in order not to violate United Nations resolutions to maintain stability in the region..
