Seems to be crap at this time. They only have 3 movie channels, the rest is the same mix of free/crappy local channels...

No, I compared the channel lineup with dream and gsat (which I have)... not much of a difference

CIGNAL is best for:

1) those not served by skycable/dream/gsat/destiny etc.
2) those who want HD broadcast (currently 3 channels but they will be adding 3 more before yearend)
3) those who want better SD reception
4) those who simply wants to have an an extra provider

If you cannot receive dream or gsat, you cannot receive cignal. Cignal comes like gsat from NSS 11...
And its expensive. If you want the 20SD and the 2HD channels, it cost 6500 for the box, 790/month and 1000 installation, just to see history channel in HD... THATS a little too much.
And the other 20 channels... gma7 and a lot of free channels...

reception is not the only consideration here but also availability/reliability/dependability of sales, after sales support and infrastructure. there are consumers particular about the service and quality.

before it was a toss up between dream and gsat (outside of cable) and there are pros and cons for each. in the end, its always the consumer who decides. sales/marketing guys often reach out to consumrs like us to provide convenience, better service, etc.

expensive? yes for some, justifiable for some, no for some. it is just there to be an option for the customer. it all depends on one's needs and wants. and i have mine
