Lapu lapu is killed by Kusinero and his kutsilyo. He defended his island a long long time ago. I prefer him to be called as hero in the defense of the ancients. He defended well enough ages ago ... didn't he?

sakto si boss @dieseldust .... we already accepted that he is a filipino since we placed him in one of the coins, so how come we can't accept him as a national hero. he butt-facked magellan and his crew - he is the first ( on record ) filipino that gave the mid-finger to foreign invaders ...

on the other hand, pinoys just silently accepted noynoy aquino as national hero and even changed the manila international airport to his name, when the guy never did anything for the country. all the aquino's did was rape the nation ....

So dili diay national hero si Lapu? It's funny nga ang Philippine National Police has him sa ilang logo pero Local Hero ra diay intawn siya..

They used Lapu-Lapu para sa ilang logo because of the fact that Lapu-Lapu was the FIRST person in the living in the Philippines, before this country even had a name, and he defended and fought for the country that he was living in from conquerors, pero wala gi recognize si Lapu-Lapu as a National Hero kay naa diay qualifications para mahimong National Hero.. watdapakingpak!

Correction, Rajahs were already here even before Lapu2 was born back in Borneo. He was one with the tribesmen who trained with dual wield eskrima, got succesful and became a sensei and a tribe chieftain. He fought for his tribe not for the country and certainly not for Humabon his rival 'lord of the land' and once again, he was not a filipino by blood.

Filipinos (by name, nationality & country) don't exist during the time of Lapu Lapu. Technically their are no Filipinos on that era. Regardless, that dude is one heelll of a fighter. Only the unbroken bloodline of killer Kusinero is existing til the present time.

Corrected, in some. Fine, he did not fight for the country, but he fought what we now call the conquerors, he protected 'something'. There were no 'filipinos' back in his good ol days, FYI, but that doesn't change the fact that he was already living here in the country now called the Philippines. Everyone living in this country came from other places, migrants.

Correct. There no 'Philippines' before and the name was given to our country in honor of some dude living far far away.

Para sa kalingawan sa tanan. What really happened in the battle of Mactan?
