Bosing, I still need help deciding which dSLR to buy.

nikon d3100 - tamron 17-50mm
nikon d90 - 50mm 1.8 + 18-55 kit

invest in body or lenses.

buy the most expensive body u can afford
the rest is to invest on quality lenses

it all depends what you need the camera for.

if you travel a lot and need something light and can handle most focal ranges without changing lenses, go with SX 30 IS. if you're like me, a control freak, willing to spend on lenses and accessories and don't care about bulkiness and fashion, get the X4.

Personally, if I had the budget, I'd get both. However, my preferences are:
1) Canon 7D with an EF-S 17-55 f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4, 70-200 f/2.8L IS
2) Canon SX1 IS.

Since budget is a bit of a burden at the moment, and my GF is demanding an iPhone 4, i'll just maintain what I have: 500d with 1 lens (Tammy 17-50 f/2.8 ).

But don't let this post confuse you. Just ask yourself, what are you shooting for. Then decide from there.

simply, grey unit refers to a brand new camera that either doesn't come with a warranty or has the warranty in another country. grey units are cheaper than regular units because warranty costs money. from the consumer standpoint, grey units become a hassle if something is wrong with the camera because you'll have to ship it back to the country of origin which can end up costing a bundle.

y'all might wanna check too this website kenrockwell.com there's an in-depth review of DSLR's known to man.. There's no bias or corporate sponsorship for him so it's more kinda like a raw straightforward info and i think is valuable too. =)
